Wii is so shit.  I think most sensible people thought a CAPCOM VS fighter with nostalgic ANIME characters could at least do a good deal better than what a doujin fighter does on PS2 (like Arcana Heart for instance [40k lifetime]) or even on par with something like Fate. 

Lifetime is going to be <50k for this.  I hope this means Capcom will PORT THE HELL OUT OF THIS GAME and put it on real systems like the PS2.

Does the Wii version even have online?  Hopefully there is a 360 version so I can use the upcoming Street Fighter 4 stick with it.

I don't know how well the game would work on PS3/X360 since it's all SD assets.  Maybe as a $20 PSN/XBLA title.

PS2 seems like a better home.  Should look about the same.

My prediction is a PS2 port with 1-2 extra characters, but longer load times and slightly worse visuals/sound in comparison to the Wii version.

It's too bad the game didn't do better the first day, but then it's not like Street Fighter IV took arcades by storm either.  TvC is a great fighter and those who can play it on Wii should really check it out.  It's awesome.

I wish, but it takes more work to port this game to the (real next-gen) consoles, a PS2 port would be easier plus there is a larger user base.

BTW Sugoi Arcana Heart 2 is coming out for PS2 in April.  I wish this too were next-gen just for online play.  Oh well.

Capcom should have released it earlier in the arcades.  There was no hype built up for it, the game just came out.  If they kept it in the arcade for a few months beforehand, people would probably have been more interested in buying it for the Wii.

I'm playing with the SNES controller and it's fine.  It's somewhere between an anime/smash bros style fighter and a Street Fighter 2.

I haven't (and never will) play the crazy wii remote + nunchuck combo controls.

It's a Vs. game.  It plays like all the previous Vs. games, but with three main attacks instead of six or four.

You can actually play the game with just the Wiimote if you want to.  It's like a beginner mode and one button attacks while the other does specials.  Good for kids or your friends who can't play fighters.

Well, this seemed like the appro thread to bump for the domestic release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

I've got it.  I honestly never thought it would come out in America and yesterday I was able to walk four blocks from my home to a Gamestop and just pick it up like a very expensive loaf of bread.  And like a loaf of bread, its delicious, easy to use, and will reward investment in using it well.

I really got no grumbling to talk about.  I wish there was more single player stuff to do, I wish my internet wasn't so laggy, but so far, shit, this is a fecking awesome game and I've had nothing but a great time with it over the last day.

Any other takers?

I have it and MoxManiac has it too...we just played each other!  If you don't have a LAN adaptor, I highly recommend you get one.  They're around $20 and make online play go much more smoothly.  I've had far less laggy matches since I got it tonight.  The guy at Gamestop knew exactly why I was buying it when I brought it to the counter.   

Friend code is 3137-7944-8822.  Friend matches kinda suck because you both have to add each other and then you both have to select each other in the friend match menu to get a connection...there's no inviting players and no way to communicate in-game.  Wii online  .

I still haven't decided on a team yet.  It's pretty easy to with with Gold Lightan because most folks don't know how to beat him, but that won't last and the character feels incredibly limited in what he can do.  I really like Joe The Condor, Tekkaman Blade, Frank West, Jun The Swan, Viewiful Joe, and maybe Morrigan the most so far.  Also Ryu is really good, but feels almost too good.

Did you get the Lost Planet mini game unlocked yet?  I haven't but it was pretty fun in the Japanese version.

Enjoying the game a hellava lots. There was a brief weirdness at the beginning coming off of non-stop SFIV playing. Everything looked so stiff, but that disappeared once I got the feel of the combat more. If I have any gripe right now it's that it can be a little too easy to set off any attack that requires rapid button presses (ex. Chun-li's lightning legs). Other than that I am greatly enjoying most of the new characters (Polimar!) and all the changes and tweaks to the VS combat (delay time in cross-over attacks!). If the online stays active this may keep my Wii from getting dusty throughout most of the year.

TvC is the first Wii game I have ever played online, so this did not even occur to me until tonight: Wii online appears to be region-locked.  While with TvC, it's okay since it offers worldwide play, it means that I am forced to only be able to do worldwide matches, which is more of a gamble as far as connection quality is concerned.  Domestic only matches me up against Asian players, where there is almost always lag present.     And I was wondering why I couldn't get any domestic matches a few days ago.     Kinda sucks, but it only seems to be Asian matches that really lag...North American and European matches are pretty much okay.
