I too have been blessed with unholy earwax.  One time my hearing in one ear was noticeably lessened for several months before I went to the doctor.  I have had at times, large pieces fall from my ear without my knowledge of it's existence.  Dark, black, attached to your brain type wax. 

whiteACID, don't use Q Tips.  Like you are afraid of, it is very common for accidents to happen.  Even if you don't mean to go too deep, what if someone walked past you and jammed your elbow?  Also, Q Tips have been known to push balls of wax deeper instead of removing them. Go to CVS pharmacy and buy this

With this loop, I can freely dig in my ear canals without fear of pain.  I can get so deep with this thing it makes my toes tingle.  Fuck drops, fuck earwax removal systems, this is the mack daddy.  Willco, is this similar to the chinese ear wax picker?

Your story made me cringe.  I worry about that a lot.

I clean my ears everyday.  The doctor's always told me that you're not supposed to clean any further than your finger can reach.  So he suggested getting a damp paper towel, wrapping it around my finger and cleaning.  Works for me.  I've been doing that for about 3 years.

Twice a day.  Everyday.

Once after my shower with a Q-tip while my ears are still wet.  After my ears are dry (air dry) I use an ear picker and scrape out what's left.   :)

That's another good point that's been mentioned only once in this thread.  Some people make way too much wax though.  I think mine is either the response to, or cause of, many bad ear infections as a child. 

But yeah, the wax helps catch dirt and insects and keep them from getting into your ear.  It's vital.

I do it twice a day too.  Don't use an ear picker though, I just use the Q-Tip (I usually use about 10 per ear)

I sadly get little lumps of wax coming out of my ears daily. So i have to clean mine everyday. Now can someone tell me why even with washing i got a funk behind my ears? I cant stand it. I want the funk gone. I use hot water and soap and that shit still stinks.
