I can already smell my game of the year. This is 09 i hope?

I played Mafia 1 about 4 times. The feel of the guns, the story, the characters, it was all amazing. Only had one noticeable black tooth to me, the racing mission, goddamn.

But yeah, Illusion Softworks, kinda love them, i loved hidden and dangerous two. I remember back then that, there were these inside the team problems, and disagreements between the creative directors or something, and Mafia 2 being put "on hold" (concept) because of it.

I'm glad it's happening, and i hope it gets more exposure than the 1st one.

I had to cheat to get past that racing mission.  I remember finding a patch or something that let you win automatically.

Yeah it was horrible.

But some of the missions were really well though out. Still remember the one where you walk into an hotel, to place a bomb, then, you run jump through a window, the whole floor explodes, and now you are getting past cops on roof tops, and then you reach the top of this church that was getting some construction done in its upper parts, and you end up arriving at the funeral of a dude who you killed, and then there's a ton of people with guns, and man it was awesome.

EB not caring = predictable.

It looks awesome!
And, since it's not a PS3 exclusive, this thread may be a pleasant discussion.

This game is definitely on my radar.

Played the original.  Felt like a dull 3rd person shooter with some positively awful driving segments thrown in between.  I think people are just in love with the setting and atmosphere or something.

Maybe they'll have a better driving model, since it looks like the this takes place in the 50's.

Is it still worth playing? I never got around to it, but I might try and squeeze it in before this one releases.

it's still worth playing, but make sure you get the PC version and not the shoddy console port
