Does Criterion actually do earnings projections before starting work on something? Or are they just skating around as EA's "wacky British comedy" studio?
I can't believe how cool Burnout Paradise is, don't get me wrong. I love it. However, they did the whole "hey, let's add bikes. um... for free!" and there were bikes. And then they said, "Let's add an island... for free!" and then someone noticed that there was no plan to make money from it again, and the residuals coming in off the marked down copies and the Greatest Hits copies were dwindling, and they said "Let's put in an island... but charge for it!"
I can't imagine such an epic undertaking as Burnout Paradise occurring in a vacuum of distinguished mentally-challenged incompetence, but I think the zen of their own business model surpasses even their own understanding.
