we used to have a portable b&w tv with bunny ears for power outages.  It had like 3 channels and one of them was mexican.  I asked my mom why and she said because we're near mexico.  A lot of things made sense to me that day.

I get one channel, quite poorly, over the ol' rabbit ears. If it weren't for satellite and torrenting, I'd still be making threads about Three's Company.

We had an early VCR with a corded remote (like four years before we ever had a TV that had a remote.)  I remember a neighbor and I tore the cord fighting over the remote.  I was fairly sure my life would end that afternoon, my mom was not impressed  :lol

We still have a working betamax player at our mountain cabin with tons of official beta movies and pretty much everything aired on HBO in the early to mid 80s recorded on Beta tapes.

Ahh man I love stuff like that.  There might be some commercial gold on them thar tapes!  You should go mining for nuggets.  At the very least you could cobble together a couple of seasons of Fraggle Rock!
