Just got in another tv tuner card so I could do that very thing....all the shit I want to watch I can get over the air and record it with my computer or just use newsgroups and torrents.

My wife is the tv watcher in the family.  I watch Lost religiously, other shit if I happen to be home....maybe 3 or 4 hours a week at most.  Loves me some movies though.

Why don't you just get an HD antenna and get a bunch of free HD content?

I love cable and all the crap channels that come with it. But seriously, if you don't watch very much, just get an HD antenna.

no the only anime I've been watching is naruto which is a half hour every week.  It's mostly documentaries and lecture series with a few movies.  I've been watching Wild China all day.  It's really fucking beautiful.  I wish I could live in china and farm rice.

I'd be hokage  of the rice farm village and people would offer up their virgin daughters to learn my awesome shadow clone jujitsu.

Three gigs of Naruto and one gig of Naruto hentai.

That's the right ration.  The hentai is for something to do while watching the two gigs of filler that come with the one gig of real naruto.

I think it's honestly a crime that bandwidth is being wasted on Naruto.  Imagine how much more bandwidth we'd have for worthy needs, like Buffy House episodes, if we could have Comcast and/or Time Warner murder Arvie.

I get the cheapest cable because it's just as cheap, or cheaper, than if I got the cost added if I got internet service unbundled.  I couldn't get an antenna signal where the TV is anyway.

I spend way too much on cable and internet with Comcast, but I love it. Unfortunately, Verizon Fios isn't available in the city of Seattle. You can get it in the suburbs, but not in the city itself thanks to Qwest.

do it, just cancel it

there are like 3 or 4 good shows on television now and you can download all of them and stream them to your ps3/360 and watch in high-def about an hour after it airs

24
lost
dexter
true blood
chuck

that's about it

unless you like watching mtv and espn, cable tv is pointless nowadays.

discovery channel is the only one that i kinda miss because i liked channel-surfing and landing on some random footage of two orangutans fornicating

I don't have cable TV nor do any stations come in.

Netflix for my film needs, the internet for my news needs.

I could just as easily get the 3 shows I actually care about enough to even know when they come on through the webs, but then what would I do without my 7 hours of the Food channel and HGTV a day? Huh?
