I don't quite understand why there's such alot of crossover between gamers and peeps who watch anime. I mean I know why I do it, mostly escapism, but its strange to me how "nerds" often share such a common pool of interests.
A lot of video games come from Japan and share the same art style, character design, and storytelling as anime would be my guess.
Oh yeah, ghost in the shell was amazingly boring. I remember waiting so long to see it and being so disappointed by the time it ended. I don't even remember what happened clearly. Did she fuse with another robot or something???
I can't really remember, but I think she fuses with the Puppet Master. In the comics, she loses her body (forgot how) and ends up in some dude's body instead. First time I saw the movie, I fell asleep halfway through. In fact I don't think I ever did see the whole thing.
sac is full of the meaningless pretend philosophical babble that kills a lot of anime
as a franchise, GITS mystifies me. It would be like making a Blade Runner II that's faithful to the original, so practically no action and even more heady talk. It just seems like such a weird foundation to build anything of mass appeal on.
I like Appleseed (the comics, not those movies) and Dominion a hell of a lot better, if we're talking Shirow stuff. Also Orion.
