I feel like I kinda wasted money on the ubi deal now.  Tried to start up FarCry last night and wasn't into it; same case for Dark Messiah.  I guess Beyond Good and Evil for $10 with some flight game still isn't bad.

I ended up just playing more Bioshock.  I'm remembering both how awesome the game is and how tedious some parts can be.

DL'ed Uno Rush.  Good game, better than the vanilla version, but $10 is way to high for what is essentially a new game mode.

Playing lots of Dungeon Crawl at work and at home, Fallout 3, Street Fghter IV, and Resident Evil 5. Very disappointed with the single player experience in RE5.

 :wag

anyway, i'm gonna try to get all the emblems in re5, and after i pick up a memory card adapter today i'll start a new game in cvx.  i've actually only played through the game once, so it'll be nice to revist it even if it is one of the weaker games in the series.

RE5 is crappy in SP.  Pretty fun in co op, though.

That's what I keep hearing, but I always like to go through the game on my own first before doing coop on my next run. I'm just annoyed with having to lose due to a random death of my shoddy AI partner. They really should've had the SP like Gears to where if your partner goes down they're just heavily wounded. The game itself looks great and I can deal with the controls, but the forced partner keeps me from enjoying it the way that I want to.

One particular section in-game aside, I had no problems with Sheva.

-Give her one or two weapons to use the entire game and nothing else; ammo is not an issue any longer.  Don't give her a stun rod.  I let her use the handgun the entire time.
-Keep her on "cover" and don't bother with "attack" unless you want her to switch weapons.  (Then switch back to cover)
-Let her use the rifle in sections where it's needed.  She does great with it.
-Give her health power-ups.  As long as you have her on "cover," she will heal you when you need it.

Once you have enough cash and points to use for buying extra stuff, give your A.I. partner a powerful gun with unlimited ammo and it won't matter anymore.

nothing but Burnout Paradise, that game owns me. Started playing friday and I already got my Burnout license. Now on Elite. The challenges are quickly ramping up in difficulty though, burning routes and marked mans are getting tricky.

Totally love it, one of my favorite games this generation for sure

I've been going through Mercenaries 2 after I finally found it cheap. Fun game, but the bugs are really starting to grate on me a bit. Peter Stormare, though.

Pikmin got tossed in favor of new arrivals STREET FIGHTER IV and also Retro Game Challenge.

Retro Game Challenge sure does have some annoying stuff in it. Star Prince was fun. The racing games stink. The RPG is fine, but it's weird going from all of these challenges that take about a minute to complete to "take a few hours to grind so you can beat a boss that will take you a while to find."

I'm playing Ninja Gaiden now.

Street Fighter IV has HADOKEN, so <3.

Getting into Fable 2. Not liking the fetch quest crap, but the game is absolutely beautiful. And the game has the coolest looking trolls around. Zelda fans, especially the ones clamoring for a "mature" style, should be into this.

Also playing Ratchet TOD, again. The kid thinks it looks like Banjo with lots of bad guys.

Does Sheva actively pick up ammo herself ?  It seems like a hassle to have to keep making sure that she has enough ammo.

Also, does she heal herself is she's wounded and you aren't in the vicnity?

I installed Dawn of War 2 and, err, i couldn't control the camera at all. My PC was playing up a fair bit that day, so i assume something was going screwy.

Does it pan with the mouse movement no matter what you do? I forget exactly what I did to fix it, but there was a setting in the game menu that looked completely unrelated, but it somehow made the camera usable.

What do you think of DOW 2 so far?

I've only dabbled with it for about an hour so all I can say is that the graphics are fantastic.  What do you think of the complaints that some EBers have had about DOW 2 being a watered down strategy game and a major step down from Company of Heroes?

Other people on podcasts have mentioned that DOW 2 is enjoyable as long as you accept the fact that it's more of an action RPG/strategy hybrid rather than a hardcore strategy game.  Is that true?

To be honest, I don't mind the lack of basebuilding. There's nothing wrong with resource crafting and farming, but since nearly every other RTS I've ever played has focused on that, this seems pretty fresh. It does feel scaled down, though, and definitely more tactical than strategic.

I'm not an RTS expert by any stretch, though, but I'm liking it quite a bit. I think calling it an action rpg/rts hybrid is spot on, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Does the PS3 have any limits on HD space?  I want to upgrade my PS3's HD so that I don't have to keep streaming movies to it from my PC.

I think 500 GB is the limit, but I'm not sure.

Actually logged into Vanguard for the first time since 2007, and shit; it's fun. It's like if you took EQ1 pre-Planes of Power and slammed it into WoW-style improvements while maintaining the hardcore elements that made EQ1 fun. Non-instanced dungeons, a genuine fear of death.

Definitely worth checking out the trial for:

World of Goo- cool beans.  Its miraculous that such a polished and beautiful game was done by two guys.

Bit Trip Beat- pong is relevant again.  Keeps throwing new dots and patterns that challenge my beliefs of what this game is capable of.  Some bullshit here and there which is going to require muscle memory to pass.

More pro evolution soccer- really impressive online options for Wii. Take this template and build on it with WiiSpeak and game invites and I might never sorta maybe want an xbox.  I'm really scared to play above amateur difficulty and the ancillary stuff goes way over my head, but the controls are so damn sexy.  At first I was lost but I remember the littlest things from the tutorials that really keep thing dynamic and interesting.  If anything I'd love a more arcadey soccer title with this exact scheme so I don't have to care about formation and player ratings and all this other whosuhwasets.

She'll pick up ammo, but I can't remember if there was a point where she healed herself if I was far enough away.  The one annoying part I mentioned aside, Sheva was right next to me for 98% of the game.

360 backwards compatibility is such trash.  I want to replay Red Dead Revolver without hooking up my old Xbox, and it's listed as a BC title, but it's almost unplayable with models disappearing and reappearing all the time.

and the PC version of Beyond Good and Evil I got has graphical problems and no controller support.  It's like a sign to hook up the old Xbox or something.
