I'm not that into progressive music in any form, some but not totally. With that said, I found out about Kayo Dot with Mia Matsumiya on violin. Her violin playing with the composition of the music put forth in "Incensing the Malediction Is a Lamb" is very compelling, I was sitting wide eyed and taking it in during the lead in to the middle section.

The album in general sounds interesting, being labled as avant-garde rock (sounds sort of off though)

*I'm listening to some of their older stuff on iTunes and there definitely rock elements and man, this is some good ass music, its extremely different. Elements of Jazz and Rock. Kind of excited over this find.

I love Kruder and Dorfmeister's K&D sessions so I'm happy I found this (apparently a side project from Richard Dorfmeister)...

...definitely a fantastic flow. I absolutely adore the low-fi faded sound that artists in this genre like to utilize.

No doubt, I've been listening to Cocteau Twins for a while and recently heard this track off of "Stars and Topsoil" just now...

I love Shoegaze but I don't think any band in this genre has really nailed the nice balance of dreamy and menacing as Cocteau Twins has.

Indeed it is! I'm thinking Supertoys and Audience Pt. 2 are my favorites. Carla's singing on the chorus of Supertoys gives me goosebumps!

All in all it's a good album but not near the brilliance that was Future Perfect. I miss the little interludes between songs!

Good looking out, Hyoushi! Its funny, a couple of hours ago a song played on the main radio stream I listen too and when I looked up at the track it was Peace Orchestra. I Google the band/artist name and track and Google tells me its Kruder's side thing. Hahahaha. I guess both Kruder and Dorfmeister as individual artists resonate with me.

I'll definitely check out Xploding Plastix stuff too.
