Great album from Kno, producer/rapper from Cunninlynguists. Very dark, atmospheric production. He has a southern twang but if you can get past that it's a damn good album.

might be my favorite hip hop aoty, dunno. Still loving the new Roots album though

Listened to the MJ Cole mix at the gym... what the hell was I listening to? It sounded like DJ Boris, DJ Theo, Paulie D, etc. Jersey Shore Fist Pumping Anthems... all this annoying tribal electro, with annoying looped Jamaican vocals on some songs. Really awful stuff, a far cry from the smooth, soulful garage he made his name on.

I listened to the Falty DL mix when you first told me about it and really enjoyed it... Too atmospheric for me ya thin? Remember, you're talking to a prog and deep house head here

Pains of Being Pure at Heart were incredible last night. They played at this little all-ages venue/teen center in Seattle to about 150 people. They even played Kurt Cobain's Cardigan, which the band apparently only plays here in Seattle. Did a mixture of the S/T LP, Higher than the Stars EP, along with Say No To Love and three songs off the new album. Bought myself a sweet Pains shirt with a unicorn on it, the lead singer sold it to me.

The opening band, Weekend, were realllly good. Think shoegaze with super sick heavy basslines. Their debut album on Slumberland comes out on Tuesday, but they were selling it at the show.

I watched the documentary about Darkness on the Edge of Town on HBO a few weeks ago and was just amazed at how much quality songs Bruce had to bring to the table for those recordings. Somewhere near 70 fucking songs. Good lord.
