This is based purely on playcount, so newer stuff isn't very well represented.

1. Predator. -ST- Good simple punk rock played really really well
2. The Death Set - Michel Poiccard- The Death Set is back not only doing the spazcore bangers for which they are known but showing a surprising amount of depth after the death of Beau Velasco
3. Iceage - New Brigade - Danish Teenagers make post-punk music like they created the genre. Fuck amazing.
4. Cult of Youth - ST - Post industrial dark folk. Twisted tales for broken brains.
5. The Men - Leave Home - The BEST band in Brooklyn changes completely yet again.

I haven't made up my mind on that album yet. It's not as immediately catchy as Melted but it doesn't have the blatant missteps of songs like "Mike D's Coke."

2. Currens$y - Covert Coup - Another solid release from the rapidly consistent spitter
3. Adele - 21 - I swear if this came out 40 years ago it would be a classic album
4. Lykke Li - Wounded Rhymes - More stripped down sound than her first album, to better results
5. CunninLynguists - Oneirology - Great rhyming and Kno busts into "top 5 current producers" lists for good

The Based God has blessed us with an introspective, honest look at the complex and troubled mind of a sensitive genius. Amazing production with average rhyming/lyrics, but he has definitely improved; even Jesus was once an average carpenter. Still there are some great songs mixed with some of the more meh stuff.

The Doors are fine. Their inclusion in the classic rock canon might be questionable, but they have a decent catalog of respectable psych-blues pop (along with a fair amount of the completely embarrassing, too).

I won't deviate much from their first album or a singles compilation, though.

This band just keeps getting better and better. I wasn't thrilled with their debut, as I know most of you weren't, but the Broken Dreams Club EP from last year was solid and well-rounded, lacking any of the hackneyed and obnoxious tracks that bogged down the first, and this track is absolutely fantastic.
