Ape Escape 1 is one of my favorite psx games. I bought Ape Escape 3 years ago and never cracked it open. Due to my 3d platformer fix lately I just wanted to try it and see how it feels and stuff.
What the fuck are with the controls? Ape Escape 1 used the right stick, but it had full 360 degree control. You could swing your sword or net or whatever in a circle if you pulled the right stick in a circle motion.
In Ape Escape 3 I can only hit things with 2 motions, and this makes the bread and butter of Ape Escape gameplay tedious. Am I going crazy here? Did the original have controls like this? I don't recall it being like this because I clearly remember swinging my sword or net in 360 circles simply because it was so fun. I can't do that here. Is my right stick fucked or was it like this to begin with as far as AE1?
