Been playing Goof Troop on SNES. The game seems rather short, but it's kind of enjoyable. Almost like a sequel to Pirate Ship Higemaru in a way. Nice graphics and a few puzzles here and there.

I've been playing my PS3 lately too. Trine is a really nice and laid back puzzle/platformer to play when you're not in the mood for a game that'll piss you off. I'm 6 levels in. Super Stardust HD has been kicking my ass. Haven't made it pass the 2nd stage yet. Either I suck or it's harder than it looks.

I'm gonna continue playing Shatter and PixelJunk Shooter when I'm done with those. I have Infamous to play also, but it's... eh. Just okay. PS3 fans overrated it. I also have Wipeout HD but it confuses me a bit. I'm not ready to deal with it.

Is it too late for me to play Demon's Souls online? I remember hearing that the servers would be shutdown sometime this year.

Spent pretty much all day playing TF2 with a friend of mine. Game looks awesome when maxed out. I'm still not a big fan, but it's a decent way to waste some time every once in a while.

Playing "Prince of Persia, starring Nathalie Portman" or whatever Elika is supposed to look like. Cleared two rooms, got first power. Initial impressions:

LT-to-instigate-dialog - lame. Lame, lame, lame. Jesus, just chat when you feel like it, Elika. I'm all ears.
Insta-save-my-bacon - Hm. On the fence. I will never be playing through it for the "never saved" cheevo, I can tell you that.
Combat - as the ONE GUY who actually liked combat in the previous PoP games, I'm not stoked on this one enemy, button-mashy stuff.

whelp since i'm done with rhythm tengoku i'm continuing my infinite undiscovery play... i just got inside the tower dungeon,you know it kinda amuses me,this game has a pretty big desert,perfect for "OMG I LOVE GIANT FIELDS WITH MONSTERS" FF12 fans yet it got completly ignored... no wonder jrpg are "dying" when jrpg fan are crybabies who don't know what the heck they want

oh and this game has to hold a record for the most annoying list of achievement ever,i don't know how many tries it took me to save that little kid without him getting hit!

So I was at the store today and for whatever reason I was tempted (again) to buy a 3DS but the more I thought about it the more it dawned on me that it just wasn't worth it. There's just something about that 3D effect of the thing that just doesn't seem right to me. And what the fuck am I going to play on it anyway? Zelda for the 100th time? No thanks.

But strangely enough, I ended up buying a DSi XL. This may even make less sense since I already own a DS Light but I gotta say that the extra screen space really makes a difference. I also picked up Dragon Quest IX along with it. As much as I loved DQVIII, I never really gave DQ9 much thought because it was on a handheld and I didn't think it could possibly have as much going on as the previous one but after reading that story on Giant Bomb about some sorry bastard spending nearly 800 hrs getting 100% on the game I decided to give it a chance.

Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2 - wow, this game does not fuck around. Makes God of War 2 on Titan difficulty a piece of cake. Beautiful as well. I died many times on the lamest difficulty level
Fat Princess - why was this hyped by the sfags again?
Resistance: Fall of Man (2006) - hard. Better than Resistance 3 by a mile.
Tales of Graces (jpn) - a japanese demo! had to look up on YouTube how to beat it. Didn't understand a shit of the battle system though, just kept on mashing O, X and L1/ R1 for the special attacks. Game is too magus for me, though.
Catherine - nice as an anime but shitty as a game.
LIMBO - awesome. PC gaming wins again.

So far I've downloaded and finished 121 demos off 4 PSN accounts (US, PL, Singapore, JPN)

PS3 is pretty nice

filthy. poor. I thought you had a job? Why play demos when you can buy games? Or is Mrs Borys in charge of the purse strings?

Terraria got kind of awesome today, just when I was about ready to give up on it. Had a 100-strong Goblin Invasion while at the same time The Eye of Cthulhu attacked, just chaos as a giant eyeball shot smaller eyeballs at me while at the same time Goblin Sorcerers were spawning inside my house unloading fireballs everywhere. At first I was getting mercilessly pummeled, but then a goblin dropped a harpoon gun and I started tearing. asses. up. After the Dryad showed up I loaded up on purification powder and went Shadow Orb mining down in the corruption, triggering an Eater of Worlds spawn while I was in a tiny space. So basically after all these many hours I finally found the game in this game.

Why would I buy 121 PS3 games? Think about it. Out of those 121 demos I tried maybe 10 titles are worth buying.

I am already 7 hours into the full version. Game is great, lots of variety of enemies, lots of spells, the deeper dungeons are pretty much hardcore & old-school with spots that randomly turn you around, teleport to some other place on the map, areas where you cannot use magic, cannot teleport from etc.

AND THERE IS EPIC LOOT

...with drop rates that depend only on your LUCK stat $:-\$

Had to call it quits for today... Dungeon of Trials 4th Floor.

Also: how stupid is that the level cap removal is a $0.99 DLC. I bought it but what the fucking fuck...

Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway

i played this awhile back on 360 and enjoyed it. playing again on PC and enjoying it a lot more. the squad tactics gameplay is excellent. moving squads around cover points is really satisfying, especially when you got an MG squad and you're just laying down tons of fire on a position. i don't understand, though, why they have isolated levels where you're by your self. those are straight terrible.

the voice acting and storytelling is a little spotty but it's still mostly good. i think it works because of the character design. their faces display so much emotion and the eyes are amazing:

Played some Dirt 3 for a few hours. Game's pretty fun, but more importantly, it looks absolutely amazing.

Some quick pics I took:

I could crank the settings up a little further, but right now I'm getting a nice 45-60 FPS (depending on the event), so I won't bother for now.

PS. magus likes Infinite Undiscovery and doesn't like Nier. That's all that needs to be said.

Played Section 8 Prejudice for a few hours tonight. The campaign is kinda eh - there's like 3 different enemy types and the objectives tend to repeat themselves two or three times in each level. But it's still fun to play, it just gets repetitive after a while. Online seems like it would be decent too, except there was no one playing when I searched for games (at 4am) so I just wound up playing some bot matches with a friend.

Also, they don't allow you to adjust anti aliasing in the options menu, so the game is pretty jaggy unless you force AA through an outside program. UE3 $:-\$

we got a copy of Super each, its not AE but it was very cheap, so I will likely pay for the upgrade.

Yeah super cheap, AE was twice the price, it's cheaper for us to get the DLC later if we want it I'm not worried about portability or anything, no tournament fighter that's for sure. God damn, blahdvd.com is so good. Most of those games were 10£ or less, and the GBP being fucked and all made them a real steal

Keep in mind that Super is basically dead online, so you're gonna need AE at this point.

I don't know much about 360 piracy, but in general I think you should decline all on-disc firmware updates magus. Newer games are probably starting to come with firmware that's ahead of your pirate firmware, so if you update you'll be back on a clean dashboard. I guess. I dunno.

Updating your dashboard should be fine, the only thing your Xbox has is a flashed DVD drive, which shouldn't affect an updated dash. Updated dashes are measures for banning people who try to go online with their flashed drives - which is why they make the "stealth" patches and new DVD firmwares. You should be fine.

yea but i heard the latest dash also reflashes your dvd firmware to his original state? that's what worries me...

mmm i'm not really sure what to think of dynasty warrior,i can appreciate the rpg elements,and it's nice to see them trying to differentiate weapon and character (so far i like the glaives a lot) but the whole game is button mashing,over button mashing,with a sprinkle of button mashing,seasoned with button mashing

it's a lot monotonous,so far i've only played the first part of the wei campaign (i think it's wei? cao cao campaign) can you hold multiple campaign saves? maybe i should dip into other campaigns... what's the deal with conquest mode? i haven't touched it at all

i must say i had a laugh when i equipped a war fan with cao cao,he started blowing enemy everywhere,he summoned thunderstorms,he even had a beam attack,i didn't think someone could kick so much ass with a fan
