Horrible? I wouldn't go that far. I think it's certainly a good game, it's not as good as Bayo though. It's more simple and lacking in content. Still parrying is cool, the cut mechanic is stupid fun, and yeah it looks solid. I just wish it had more going on.

Ya. Horrible.

Shit camera, useless weapons and items, unskippable cutscenes, fights even being scripted making them not fun at all to play (who wants to replay the President fight. At all?), useles Zandatsu crap

VR Missions stupid as fuck.

If Ninja Gaiden 3 didnt exist, it would be the worst of the bunch. Doodoo on a disc.

It's pretty weak.  Don't get the love at all.  Started a new game+ after finishing it but got bored by the 2nd chapter.  It's not a terrible action game, but it's certainly not a great one.  Maybe if it had another year of development for length, depth and polish.  That's why MGR2 could be great if it gets those.  MGR reminds me a lot of ZoE1.  Just the framework for an eventual great game.

I'm a sucker for a good arcade compilation.  8)

I like all the tables equally, but I prefer the Pat Lawlor tables, and Gofers is the best one of the bunch, although Twilight Zone is pretty awesome once you get into the groove.

If they get High Speed and The Getaway: High Speed II, I'll be set for life.

megaman x and x2 are okay.

 :comeon :comeon :comeon

I used to really love MMX1 and 2. I used to prefer X over Classic. But since the release of 9, between 2, 3, 5, 6, and 9 I've mostly only ever played Classic without touching X. Last year I played Mega Man X SF and it was shit. So I played MMX instead. I was thoroughly unimpressed for the first time ever. I found the levels boring, and Sonic like in their passitivity. I could speed through levels without much if any effort. It has so little actually good platforming and is more of a run and gun with plat former elements. The bosses are great but little else. Going back an reevaluating the games did wonders.

I am scared to do the same with X4. Up until now it was my favorite Mega Man but my preference in Mega Man has changed so much over the years I don't want to replay it.

Final upgrade in Mark of the Ninja is all sorts of broken fun.

At last two stages now.  Been able to stick with no kill run and got no alerts for all the stages except one.  Really satisfying.  Once I'm done with it, I'm going back in and will go for all the optional objectives (most of the ones left are fun ways to murder guards).

Finished Mark of the Ninja in a no-alert, no-kill run all the way.  Was really fucking frustating at a couple parts (especially the final stage), but pretty satisfying to be able to accomplish it and think up creative ways to lure out guards and get around them.  Started a second run and was pleasantly surprised that the game rewards KILLING as much as stealth, if not more so!  Originally when I did stage 1 and killed all the dudes, I got a shitty score and figured to get a good score you needed to stealth it and get the no alerts/no kills score bonuses.  And while those do get you good scores and 3 seals on each stage, if you're high score running it, you can get even higher scores doing no alerts, all kills runs...and boy is it fun.

Suddenly I'm using all my tools and moves and the game is still challenging me to think up creative solutions to each puzzle room in order to murder all the guards in as high scoring and creative ways as possible without being detected.  I'm having to think up entirely different solutions than when I was doing a no-kill run, but the game is just as challenging this way and just as rewarding because sneaking around doing all sorts of stealth kills is fricken fun.  The no-kill bonus is usually only about 8,000 points, whereas there's often 20-30 enemies in a stage and if you kill them with style, distract them, freak guards out and hide the bodies you can get 600-1000 point per guy (well you can get 200 or so distraction/undetected points out of them on a no-kill run too; so really it's a 400-600 point per guard difference).  But yeah, even at 400 points x 20 guards, that's equal to the 8,000 no-kill bonus.  So if you do anything interesting with the kills you'll end up with higher score runs for killing than not-killing.  Pretty cool and interesting.  You probably don't even need the no-alert bonus (usually about 3,000 points) so if you wanted to do a rambo style run in and kill everyone, you could probably still rack up really high scores even with alerts.

It's also fun just taking my time and exploring all the levels, getting all the sub-objectives, getting all the scrolls.  Basically 100%-ing the game while I murder everyone in the level.  Satisfying!

Overall I really liked the game.  The animation is fluid, the core mechanics are fantastic stealth sandboxing, the level design is truly great with many paths and solutions to every section, the game generally has good checkpointing and along with a checkpoint restart system that doesn't dock you for using it and thus encouraging experimentation, and the length is pretty ok with a lot of replayability.

Where it falls down is that the story is boring, I wanted to skip every cutscene and never cared about anything going on.  Occasionally you have to fight the controls, the final "level" is terrible, and the worst part about the game is that it's occasionally glitchy; sometimes in a good way that helps you (like setting off alarms and dying and then you restart just ahead of where you died in the next section without the alarm counting; sometimes in a REALLY BAD WAY where you're doing a no-kill run and some guy off screen in a completely different section will keep doing something that kills him giving you an unwanted kill and you can't do anything about it [had this happen at the end of the final stage and it really annoyed me >_<]); but 80% of the time the game runs perfect and is quite fun.  Would play a sequel for sure.

3.5/4

Pretty good game, but I always felt too powerful and had to refrain from using my abilities.

I might do a ghost run in the future, but I want to play the DLC first.

Dunwall City Trials is fun if you just want to tool around with your powers in self-contained scenarios. The Knife of Dunwall is more of what's in the base game, minus the hub between missions and with less story stuff going on.

Beat Tomb Raider.

Could have had a few more challenging puzzles but ive been to some optional tombs and it seems they have puzzles. I guess this keeps the game the right pace. I loved that there isnt too much shooting like in Uncharted, game doesnt feel padded with gunfights.

A great game really, hope they will continue on this route for the series.

There's a rhyme and reason with the Powerball. When you boot up the table it's always the third ball that spits out of the gumball machine. I'm certain that there's a youtube video with strategy for Powerball jackpots.

yeah but it's pretty annoying having to hit the gumball 3 times each time to get a try... and beating the power for the actual jackpot it's sort of random in itself! that said,i'm almost done with cactus canyon... just missing the save polly objective, the magical seems to magicaly drain as soon as the mode starts >:(

- which stat is the most important? Should I put souls in a particular stat to grow (like Strength, Magic) or can I just raise them all and be jack of all trades?
It depends on your build. For PvP multiplayer you want to min-max your stats since you're paired against opponents with about the same level as you. In single player you can be a jack of all trades.
Quote
- any specific order to beat the Archstones? I managed to kill some of the Ratmen in the Poison Swamps and then just retreated to Nexus, the Prison dudes rape me in 2 hits, the Storm Island Skeleton - I bailed the fuck out when he started rolling towards me :lol Did not see any enemy in Stonefang yet - just bought some stuffs there. I guess I will go like this: Swamps --> Stonefang --> Storms/ Prison.
No, there isn't a specific order. Try to experiment with different weapon damage types. Enemies are usually weak against something. Just continue to try to make progress in each world and whenever you get stuck you can go back to one of the other worlds.
Quote
- are the Stones which can give your body back dropped by some monsters later on? So far I have only one of them and it is kind of precious as you can imagine.
Yes, you can farm them from enemies although they aren't that easy to get. Get used to play the game in soul form. It's generally the safer option.
Quote
- the Wetstone for repairing your weapon - is it a one time use only thing? Or can you use it many times?
I rarely use these. You can repair your gear with the help of a blacksmith instead.

Try unequipping some gear or change to a lighter armor. You want to be more mobile. You have full movement speed if you equip less than 50% of your max equip stat.

done the first 5 stage of dragon's crown,so far so good, all of the stage had unique graphics and their own monster and stuff... i don't have a lot to say because really,it's a chaotic hack & slash, you go into the stage and punch everything and it's all amazing looking... there is a bit where you get assaulted by ghosts and you need to shoo them with a torch and their melting animation is so mmmmmmm.... one of the boss fight was against a group of pirate's,one of them bring a genie lamp and if you snatch it from him you can use the lamp to unleash the genie on them and the genie sprite is so huge it takes 75% of the screen

one guy on neogaf said he finished the game in around 16 hours, half of which were grinding as apparently the game hits a quite big difficulty spike at a certain point,so far i've only died once... even if you die you have 2 extra life up to your disposal and the same goes for your AI companions,if one of them die's for good you can still pay some of your loot to resurrect them, there is even an arcade-like countdown :lol

frankly i'll be damned if i understand you guys, you were all excited for the steam re-release of D&D Chronicles of mystaria and now that a game which is basicaly the same but prettier and with some meat behind it's bone in the form of loot, skills and rpg element you are all like "nuh-huh,it's vanilla ware, ain't touching that"
