If you guys were afraid of Final Fantasy 13's "all items" achievement - IU shoves its bare cock in its butt and makes it lick its poop.

Is there a similar achievement in IU?

Yea... obtain 1 of every item in the game.

Except there are missable items, items that disappear after so long into the story (which are required to craft more items, making those items missable), items in shops that disappear after so long which would make crafting quicker but since they're gone you have to sit down and craft those items to craft more items... and one item for defeating the final boss in the optional dungeon.

So anyone complaining about FF13 needs to eat a peepee, that shit is child's play... lmao

Lost Odyssey ups the ante on both those cheevs, requiring you collect EVERY item in the game you can find. This includes shit in environmental objects like pots, paintings on walls, cupboards and other random environment specific objects. Yes you have to find every random piece of shit in the whole game, I don't really care bout cheevs so I didn't care but Scenester got pretty pissed about it. Most ridiculous achievement ever.

Lost Odyssey is the easiest game for that achievement, zero grind involved. Scenester is just lazy.

I would rank them as

1. Blue Dragon (missable items for the easiest things, required grinding to Level 99 - unrelated to treasures but in general)
2. IU (missable items, crafting, grind involved to defeat final optional boss for 1 item)
3. FF13 (not much grind involved to reach max, just lots of unnecessary farming for Ingots and Traps, nothing missable unless you really tried)
4. LO (zero grind, nothing missable)

Vesperia had one too but I dont think it was that bad, least I can remember. If I had to place it, it would go between IU and FF13

Didn't know this. I probably could've got this achievement if I did. Doubt that I'll ever go back to it. :duh

I don't think Atelier games are embarrassing to play.  I just don't think they have much appeal to men.  They seem very much aimed at women.  It's like reading shoujo manga; nothing wrong with it if you find something you enjoy.

:rofl

Thanks... I didnt know how to put it in words
Tales games are also aimed at women, btw.

Well, as a guy, I agree it would be pretty embarrassing to get caught playing an Atelier game.  You are not the target audience.  It's like a middle-aged man watching Sailor Moon.

Beyond Good and Evil. Awesome game so far, just really easy. Not a huge fan of the archetype used for Pey'j but I can deal. Really hope to see a next-gen follow-up to this.
BG&E was one of my favorite games from last gen. Lots of places to go, people to see, the camera mechanic is a lot of fun. Jade's a fun heroine who is easy to root for. I may have 100% in it, I can't recall. I got everything for the ship, finished all the side stuff, and filled up the naturalist's book. I was not fond of the final boss; I think I passed it on the first try, but I thought the mechanic was cheap. You'll see.

So, yeah. Red Dead Redemption finally arrived last night. Just riding around is so pretty. The skies! And there are little things going on all around. I saw a deer; it spooked immediately, and was heading into a valley -- so I dropped off the horse, went in to dead-eye mode, everything went silent and calm, and I pulled a long, long shot as only its head was visible. Wasn't even sure if I'd made the shot until I rode up and saw the carcass. Draggin' that deer meat and hide into town for a trade. Some old jackass in longjohns comes running out from an alley, chasing down a painted lady with his carving knife. Dropped him with a shot to the leg, and the lady said some nice things to me.

Pretty sure I am going to say goodbye to all other games for a bit.

magus, there were 3 Atelier Iris games released in the US on PS2... they're more traditional/orthodox RPGs than the rest of the Atelier series though.

I am still playing RoF. Game is getting a good deal harder, it really wants me to make the most out of my items and special ammo... About to start chapter 13. Thinking of doing the bonus dungeon in it too, as well as all the Arena battles.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines - On several occasions I've made a valiant attempt to complete what I consider to be one of the best Western RPGs of the past ten years, but the greatness of the first two-thirds fades quickly in the final stretch and I'm left with little desire to continue. As with Arcanum, there are numerous problems here, many of which are fixed by the fans but far from all, that are thankfully overshadowed by greatness elsewhere. It's also probably one of the best pieces of vampire fiction this side of Bram Stoker.

I've had this game since it came out.  It has never ran well enough on any of the PCs I have owned since 2004.   :-\

Yeah, everyone has a recommended shadow and they get better stats and maybe other advantages like faster xp growth when using them.

I think I  stuck with shu (dragon), shiro (whatever he uses in the first game), and the robot dude using the beetle.  Shu had attacking and attack buffs I think, shiro had healing and some buffs, and robot had def buffs.  Later on though I switched out robot/beetle for one of the attack buff ones.

How is the Crono's death only five minutes long? You have to get the Epoch and then do sidequests to resurrect Crono. It's hardly five minutes.

Yeah, nothing helped.  Now I *am* trying to play it on an HP Mini 311 netbook, but I don't see why it wouldn't be able to handle a game that old.  I can run other similar games just fine.  It was just as choppy and unplayable on my older top-of-the-line Alienware laptop back in 2004.  I figure when I finally get a nice powerful desktop I'll finally be able to play it.  Maybe.

I've been playing a decent amount of Mushihime Futari 1.5 lately. I think I'll finally dedicate the time and practice it takes to clear this game. I just made it up to the final boss (Larsa) with 3 lives left but I still died because I was using fucking Reco. She kills bosses so slowly and Larsa has some really hard patterns that get tougher the longer they last. I at least managed a new highscore (201m) and the achievement associated with it, so I'm satisfied for now. Guess it's time to hit training mode.

I just wish Reco's laser was a little stronger. Obviously her advantage over Palm is her spread-shot, so a weaker laser is to be expected. But she probably takes twice as long to kill bosses, and that can cause some problems. In Black Label, they basically gave her the boss-killing power of Palm, which explains why I cleared that game in just a few tries. :bow overpowered characters

I hope I'll be able to enjoy ME2 after Alpha Protocol.  I really think it'll be hard to play Bioware/Bethesda stuff after this where your dialogue choices are like GOOD/NEUTRAL/EVIL  :-\
I was trying to replay ME1 last week so I can bring the save into ME2 and ME1 is ughhhh these days.
:rofl
double :rofl

Sorry, Bebpo, but you're totally off the mark here!
