First order of business this weekend is Zombie Genocider + Indoorsman + Outdoorsman + Karate Master (if possible). I won't be going for Saint or anything that requires a full play until I hit Level 50 (34 right now).
If you're over level 25, Karate Master is simple. If you're over 40, it's so easy as to be dumb. I think I got it using the Lariat move over and over.

I think I got it for like $3.74 last steam sale.

:bow PC gaming :bow2

Been on a PC kick lately.  Blew through Kane & Lynch.  Just finished Dirt 2 which was mainly sex except that it barely has any tracks so everything after 5 hours is a repetitive grind, but those first 5 hours are golden.  Playing Dirt 1 which is pretty sucky after Dirt 2 and playing Serious Sam HD First Encounter which is an insane and ridiculous game

I just started this

(Image removed from quote.)

PC Gaming :bow
:lol
That was 14 bucks at Walmart today; I thought about it, and honestly wondered if it was "a demi game." In the end, I passed on it. In the end, if I'm going to get into something space-combatty and complex, I'll use a PC.

It came out on PC four years ago.

Serious Sam is ridiculous.  It's just way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for 1p
I can see this being awesome with 16p coop, but 1p it's just too many damn enemies.  Even if you survive it feels like a grind.  So many enemies you gotta kill each area before you can move on.

Definitely not gonna play 2nd encounter.  But will finish up First Encounter.  I have like 4 stars left at this point.

Good Thing: Someone released a new port of a TCG on the ds
Bad Thing: it's all in japanese and i have to keep a translated list of what each card does in hand to actualy play it
Worst Thing: this list only goes up to set 4 out of 9!

Have you played Culdcept magus? There's a fan translation for the DS version, but it's incomplete. Not sure how far along it is either. You should check it out if you haven't. It's basically a TCG + Monopoly + RPG.

Since Grifball was up this weekend on Halo 3, I figured I'd finally 1750 it. Since the extermination achievement takes a good amount of luck, I thought it would take me forever, but thankfully it only took an hour or so. Now I guess I'll grind out the 0 GS achievement for getting 50 exp in a playlist since it's the last one I need.

yea i played the ps2 version,it wasn't bad but it really lacked card combo's and all the cool shit that make a TCG cool plus the card were a little generic,i would probably be all over card hero if nintendo wasn't distinguished mentally-challenged and refused to bring anything that doesn't feature "Wii XXXX" in the title

anyway this one i'm playing is quite neat, imagine playing magic the gathering but

- you automaticaly starts with 4 lands
- you start with 4 cards instead of 7
- you automaticaly get a new land at the start of each turn
- you only have 5 HP so after 5 direct attack you are dead
- monster only have a single value that count both as power and toughness, there are enchantment, spells can be played both as instant and sorceries, usualy instant effect are more of the 'giant growth' kind,no extra lands beside the one you get at the start and the one that card effect net you
- there is no summoning sickness but the player who goes first can't attack on the first turn
- each time you get hit,you automaticaly get a new land
- each card has affinity but it can only works up at a certain point (so for example a card priced 8 might have an affinity of 4 which means that 4 card of the same color will reduce the cost to 4 but not more than that, this is also how the game rewards single color)
- you need to keep at least 1 land locked for each monster you own
- locking more land on a monster can make him stronger or giving him more ability, same for the enchantments (for example one of the enchantment says "draw 1 card, discard 1 card" but if you lock 3 land on it,it simply becomes "draw 1 card")
- also for some weird reason there are 6 colors, there is red also known as "RUSHRUSHRUSHATTACKATTACKATTACK" and has dragons, green which is the mana generating color and has bug and beasts, black which has lands manipulation and has ghost and monster, white which is the defensive color and has robots, blue which seems to be the milling color and has weird beast hybrid and yellow which seems to be more of a support color than anything and has fairy tales related card

I beat Nier and saw the first ending. It might just be my favorite jrpg this gen. I'll decide after I see the other endings.

Edit: Anyone know where I can find the soundtrack? No one is seeding it at what.cd.

Machinarium is really hard. :(  At least the puzzles so far are generally logical and not the typical 'use gum on dragon' stuff in other adventure games I've played.

I hate sitting through the enemy's turn in Valkyria.  It's one of those "go make a sandwhich things".  SRPGs should not have the enemy turn take 5 mins.  Apparently the latest Fire Emblem lets you skip watching the enemy turn completely and just see the results.  That's more like it.

Machinarium is really hard. :(  At least the puzzles so far are generally logical and not the typical 'use gum on dragon' stuff in other adventure games I've played.

They get easier I think.  The first few areas are kind of annoying tough.

In other news Devil Survivor is super good.  Megaten seal of quality continues to apply.

Love the character designs.  Getting the Durarararara guy to do them is awesome because he does modern hip and dark really well.
The music is cool, but I dunno why they got some other guy if he was just going to ape meguro's buttrock, synth, and pop style.  If you're gonna have someone else do megaten, let them go crazy and sound different.

The branching path stuff makes me a little sad though.  Because I don't replay rpgs and there's so many choices and I don't want to miss things!  :(

The problem with Machinarium was the usual adventure game problem for me of there not being enough feedback provided to determine in some cases what was usable and what was just part of the background. I knew basically how to solve certain puzzles but grappling with the interface and how to achieve that solution was frustrating in many cases.

I compare it to something like Limbo which is a different kind of game but still a puzzle game, but that game handled it a lot more brilliantly about what was actually possible.

Finished Serious Sam FE.  Did not like it at all.  Not my kind of FPS.

You can use a guide that places you at a decision point where you can branch out to any ending.

I don't like looking at guides :X  They are full of spoilerzz

Usually I just youtube the other endings after I beat it once.

Well at least Devil Survivor's new game+ basically breaks the game. You can power through another route with ease. There's an additional boss in new game+ too.

But yes, Devil Survivor is awesome. :bow Best RPG on the DS.

same here.  i finally made it to the open world level but i'm getting tired of this battle system.  i thought it would be great to start coming up with real strategies against all the boss monsters, but instead i'm getting my ass handed to me by the second fucking mark.  yay grinding!  anyone have a good guide for the terrible upgrading system?

i stopped playing devil survivor around day 6,it's another one of those SRPG that made me realize i simply don't like the genre,i like the fact that it has the press turn system but that's about it,i couldn't care less about the plot, slapping all the skill you need on a single demon is uber easy making customization joyless and recruiting new demon is as easy as clicking a button

plus there are a lot of annoying "PROTECT DUMBASS NPC!" missions

Started playing Grid again, this time on X360 now that I'm done with Dirt 1/2.  Wasn't feeling it on PC, but on X360 the motion blur seems a lot better + it has achievements and for some reason it seems to control better than playing with a X360 pad on PC.  So I'm enjoying it now.  It's no PGR, but it's not a bad B- wannabe.

Getting excited to finally play Forza 3.  I love racing games, but after PGR died and GT never came out I kind of bailed on the genre.  Dirt 2 PC got me back in by giving me that Rallisport Challenge 2 feeling all over again.  So my plan of catching up on racers is Dirt 2 -> Dirt 1 -> Grid -> Forza 3 -> GT5.  Might give PURE another shot, but I dunno.  I got pretty far a few years back and it was ok but got kind of boring.  And I would go back to Motorstorm PR campaign but I think I got to the point in it where I basically said "fuck that AI".  Will wait for Motorstorm 3 and hope they finally tone down the AI a bit.

Ninja Missile riding!
Ninja Air Bike Driving!

Ninja Blade was Bayonetta before Bayonetta :O

The only complaint I have is the missions are fucking LONG (~1 hour) and you can't save mid-mission afaik.  So once you start a mission you need to committ a lot of time.  Will be sticking to 1 mission per night because of this.

I'm playing Raven's Wolverine game (the one that came out last year and runs on UE3). This game is FUCKING AWESOME. It plays super smooth and has some of the most hilarious kills I've ever seen, like ramming a dude's head into helicopter blades and impaling a guy on a 50-cal that's unloading into your chest. Then there's shit with boats that's just  :lol

Looks like they poured a ton of money into the game too. Too bad Singularity didn't have the same amount of love and care

Crap, I totally forgot about Wolvie's game. The demo for it was pretty badass. I've not seen it ANYWHERE. It must have had a sizable initial print run, tanked at retail, and no follow-up pressings, leading to its current unavailability.

Finally getting around to playing through Half-Life 2 in its entirety since Stoney mentioned it a few pages back and I remembered that I'd never finished it.  This is the third or fourth time I've started it, and I usually end up quitting during one of the lengthy vehicle chapters or during Ravenholm, but I'm past all of that at this point.

Playing this on a console is dampering my enjoyment of the combat due to the awful weapon-switching, preventing me to reacting to every scenario they way I'd like to.  Quickswap would remedy the problem, but requires some care to set up due to the way you cycle through the weapon "tiers", and you'll occasionally end up with a weapon in your swap that you didn't intend.  Otherwise it's fine.  I would've started on the PC version, but I've got Orange Box for 360 practically untouched and that's where I'll be playing Episodes 1 and 2 anyway.

There's really nothing else to add that hasn't been said already.  The game is pretty awesome and every section seems like there was a lot of care put into its design.  The puzzles, especially, are so intuitive that you never spend a lot of time on them, but make you feel pretty clever in having solved them anyhow.

Fuck Civ4, man. :fbm

I had the best game going as Lincoln in 2,000+ games. I got Mansa Musa as a Vassal midway and crushed the Khmer into capitulation. I was just finishing up the last 2 pieces of my spaceship, literally 4 turns left, and Willaim van shithead wins a cultural victory!!!!!!!!!!!???????:maf :maf :maf :maf :maf :maf :maf

I was 1200+ points ahead of the next person.  :maf :maf :maf
