Sniper Elite V2It's pretty good. Surprisingly not entirely about shooting people in the plums from very far away. Not entirely, anyway. You also sneak around just to get into position, to retrieve intel or place explosives. Which you then sometimes shoot yourself, because you're a badass sniper of course. "The Sniper" in fact, because you're never named and the enemies seemed to have all heard of this one super-sniper and they're sure it can only be this one guy picking them off.
Anyway, it looks pretty good, environments are very nice for being bombed out ruins and it runs really well.
You have to play on a higher difficulty (called Sniper Elite - hmmm...) to get full bullet physics. Understandable decision, but still

considering what this game is about.
Only issues I had were some shitty checkpoints where you essentially have to act immediately or get shot. There's also a spot where an enemy sniper was trying to shoot me through a wall, so he never moved into a position from where I could get him, forcing me to throw a grenade through his window. Which was surprisingly difficult and ruinied the flow of that mission. Not very graceful. Lot's of retries. Bleh. It was the final mission, too. Point landing, huh?
The AI can be a little daft in general, but I think the weird behaviour I was seeing was due to them not being able to mantle up ledges, causing them to run around like headless chickens at the foot of whatever structure I was in. It's possible that they just couldn't find the ledges.
The AI barks are extremely frequent, too. It's like the devs tried to give you sonar. A single guy sometimes sounds like two people, it's that frequent. I also had to turn off the music, because it got that blaringly obnoxious with its pomp.
