Last night's show was exactly like late night, which is good. I was worried he was going to calm down a bit, especially after the somewhat muted first episode.

Although I doubt he would have gotten a video message from the President like he did last night if he was still doing Late Night.

But ya, degrading locker room humor is probably the reason Letterman is Star Trek to Conan's Terminator Salvation. His show featured a guy feeding his wife spaghetti with a fork jammed up his nose but jokes were made without calling him a loser.

I love the idea that Letterman is some man who respects his guests and people on his show all of a sudden and Conan is some guy who makes fun of his.

What makes Letterman fucking LETTERMAN is how he doesn't give a fuck and willing to humiliate people who rub him the wrong way on air. Be it McCain last fall, or Jaquin Phoenix, Spencer Pratt, Sarah Palin...etc lately.

Letterman is not some guy who is nice to his guests, he isn't Leno.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that the 11:30 talk shows are now the most funny and most edgy of the late night shows not 12:30? It's strange for that role reversal. It applies to both Conan and Lettermam compared to Fallon and that Scottish dude.
