Actually as far as we know for sure the only dude that left Tecmo was the self-important one. It's a pretty big disservice to that team to give Itagaki all the credit for the quality of the games.

Reggie was interviewed by G4 and they asked him about Retro. He was very secretive!! He said that nintendo and Retro decided that they will work on another project and it won't be shown this E3.

No Pikmin 3 was pretty lame. Then again, they also didn't show a lot of things we knew about that they didn't show. It might be a Brawl like reveal where it happens tomorrow.

Tecmo Metroid has me interested, I mean, it can still suck. I'm so excited for Galaxy 2 though. Galaxy is one of my favorite games, it was just so good.

Started off well. I think NSMB Wii could be cool; I'm interested to see what the single player looks like. If it's got a Four Swords feel I'll slobber all over that shit.

Wii Sports Resort, I think, looks really ace. Archery is going to be a whole lot of fun.

Then it got boring. I didn't care about the DS announcements really other than Mario and Donkey Kong, which is cool its coming in a week. Iwata brought the lulz with the Vitality sensor (um, wut).

The rest was solid. Mario Galaxy 2 looks fucking incredible, the last third party games are cool looking, and Metroid OMGGGGG

I give it a 7/10.

Dumb post is dumb. Galaxy was awesome because it was a departure from the Mario 64 template. This is more of the same. If the new Zelda looked liked Twilight Princess I'd be just as apathetic. Four Swords Mario looks like fucking sex though, oh god I need some nerd friends to play this with.

No, not really. I was simarly apathetic towards Metroid Prime 2 upon release. Prime was good enough to fill my metroid cravings and it wasn't until Corruption's sexy controls were in the equation that I needed to play a new entry. Like nsmbw, has those rotating landscapes and competitive co-op. Looks novel. And I'm not going to deny I'm a novelty whore.

I think it looks good. Ignore the distinguished mentally-challenged fellows. They said it had a single player mode, but they chose to showcase the multiplayer aspect, just Nintendo typical press conference randomness. Miyamoto will probably break out more info tonight if he's there in one of those roundtables.

Mario Galaxy 2 looks fucking awesome, and I'm amazed they had the good sense to reuse a great engine for a sequel. Here, I would expect Nintendo's interest in non-games to supersede its tendency to milk Mario. But, milked mustachioed mascot or not, it's obvious Galaxy 2 will be the first or second-best game on the system. I'm tentatively guessing this will be more difficult (pretty please) and even zanier than number one. Yoshi sucked in Sunshine, but I have a feeling they're doing something different with him this time.

Don't know how I feel about Metroid (and I'm a fan of the Prime games! Especially the first one). The obvious CG footage looked like shit; the obvious gameplay footage looked pretty slick, but then I've never liked the Ninja Gaiden games, so I'm apprehensive about it.

EDIT: The biggest and douchiest ninthings at GAF are somehow massively let down by the Galaxy 2 announcement but floored by New Super Mario Bros. Wii. EmCee, you're in good company.

I think there will be a justifiable backlash if the only novelty is Yoshi while the introduction is obnoxiously long and patronizing and the various galaxies feature roughly the exact same themes (and are ordered in the same way) and follow the exact same progression as the first one. Because then, too, would the comparison to TP would be justified. Actually, no it wouldn't--3D Mario's core gameplay is more timeless and in less need of change than 3D Zelda's.
