so is brutal legend any good?

it's by tim schafer, yeah, but it looks like a crappy god of war-style button masher

Didn't they try this back in February? Activision didn't want to release it, so EA stepped in.

Screw them.

it's more of a light Zelda clone with a little bit of pikmin thrown in the mix

We will have Tim Schafer to blame when Activision announces Guitar Hero: Hannah Montana.

Oh, Schafer, don't ever change...

Quote from: Kotaku
Activision's none too pleased about Double Fine Productions' heavy metal epic Brütal Legend having gone to EA. So it's suing the developer. What say you, Double Fine president Tim Schafer?

"Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it," Schafer said. "Oh great, now Beyoncé is going to sue me too."

And that's about the best official response to a lawsuit we've ever heard at Kotaku. if only legal battle could be settled in a battle of wits, instead of extended litigation and a series of public relations disasters, the world would be a better place.

Court TV would certainly be a lot better.

This is the same kind of douche-tactic that Fox used against Warner to "stop" the Watchmen release. How did that work out? It's all about the lawyers being able to point at money they made for the company, regardless of its moral justifiability.

I just watched the IGN demo of it where some guy from IGN kept trying to make jokes during it to Tim Schafer and some other guy.  The best part was when the IGN guy made an incredibly bad joke and was laughed at by the random guy there; he looked to the camera and smiled as if he thought he was victorious with the joke.

The game looks alright.  It looks like a standard action game with some nice style to it.  I mean, the action in Darksiders looks more entertaining.

I wonder if all the celebrity voices happened part when the game was with activision because it seems to have a lot of relatively famous people voicing the game.  EA must have faith or something else to be funding that.

Darksiders looks like open world DMC4 right down to the arm mechanic.  Even if the combat is a rip, it still looks more fun than the also ripped-off combat of Brutal Legend.  But Brutal Legend has really cool style to it and the presentation will be great like other games from Tim Schafer.  The actual gameplay parts just look weak.
