I can't believe you bought a pair of Diesel jeans dude. I tried on a pair recently and they were awesome, but when I realized that the price tag I was looking at was for THE BELT, and checked out the actual price....my enthusiasm cooled real fast

the pic above was taken with no messing whatsoever, beyond setting it to the 'Sports' preset. point and click. Kinda ridiculous. I hadn't even opened the manual at the time.

That's awesome, dslrs seem super epic and intimidating whenever I look at them, pick them up, etc., but if they take pictures like that without any fucking around, I'm in.

And Diesel jeans are the best! I look at them as investments, because they're practically indestructible compared to other jeans in that price range and they fit me pretty well at that.

The downside is that you need (at least) 4 dolphins.

Here are the jeans I tried. I wasn't gonna buy them but I at least wanted to try them and take a pic! It's true, they fit like angel skin. But they were 37,000yen! Jesus wept! I just couldn't do it. Zara is as high-post as I get.

37000 yenners comes to...$386ish US! Holy shit, no wonder you didn't want to buy them-- Diesels usually retail in the States for no more than $250, and usually closer to the $185-230 area ($99 if you get them out of season or on sale

). Did you try them on at a Diesel store (Tokyo price inflation ftl) or some boutique that marks shit up way too high?

it was at a Diesel store, at Tokyo Midtown. Where everything is expensive. I saw camo shorts for $250

if the sizes are reasonably consistent, i guess i could just go for a fitting session then order online from the US?

That would definitely work... From my experience the sizes are pretty consistent too-- every pair I own is the same size, at least.

$250 camo shorts seem to be a Tokyo staple. I think my friend actually bought a pair my first round out there in Harajuku or something, but they were stolen at Club Sega. Oh noes!

I have yet to tap into my bonus yet. I've been /)(\ close to getting a PSP. Only thing holding me back is that I want to buy a game for it and don't feel like buying one for $40 or peeling off GameStop's stupid and shitty stickers. That and the 360 occasionally reads discs so I play some games from time to time.

13" Macbook Pro 2.53Ghz....because I'm a whore like that. Actually, getting ready to move and thought that having a laptop would make more sense in an apartment. This fucking time I bought AppleCare.

360 Arcade....replaced my elite that went belly up on Father's Day

. I know I can get a replacement but I bought an elite the first week it was out and mine was loud and noisy....new arcade +120gb hdd is nice and quiet.

I want that 13" MacBook Pro, but the graphics card in it still doesn't seem to be that great. Certainly better than my current vanilla MacBook, but as much as I'd like to stick with Apple (and dual boot), I think I'm going to have to stick to my plan to get a PC desktop next go-round.

I'd like to do a small amount of gaming (SF4, Fallout 3, Diablo 3, and maybe a few others). Also wouldn't a better graphics card help when playing HD video?

Kinda torn since I enjoy using OSX, but I want something more powerful and do not want to spend a shit-ton of cash on a Mac Pro or high-end MacBook Pro. Plus I did that once before ($3,200 Alienware laptop) and it wasn't worth it in the end. On the other hand, I've gone back to school (just recently finished the first quarter, all A's!) taking IT courses, so I'm getting used to Windows again.

I watched A Scanner Darkly this afternoon, and holy moley it looks good on Blu-Ray!

I also watched How the West was Won yesterday, and I was a bit surprised, but the Smilebox version (for simulated Cinerama) was very effective. It also looked nice on BD, a million times better than my old DVD copy.
