Launched in March, Runes of Magic is awesome. Everyone bashes it as a WoW clone, but it's free has old school UO free-for-all PVP, isn't a grindfest, is free, it's fun, and it's FREE.

There's only one US PVP server, and these are the rules:

It's basically like UO once they put in the reputation system.

Also, unlike FreeRealms, they don't lock content behind microtransactions. All of the paid stuff is cosmetic.

I do. There's quite a few goons from SomethingAwful playing it too. I'm waiting until 1:40 AM so I can reroll my character as Fatalt. I'm tempted to play it now and start up a mage or something but I was really enjoying the Warrior, I just want to be a Warrior/Priest instead of a crappy Warrior/Rogue.

They are. Blizzard is already mining the game for ideas (RoMs quest target targeting - where a mob tells you what quests it's needed for in its tooltip has already been patched into WOW) so don't be surpised to see something similar happen to PVP in WoW.

Runes is extremely impressive and fun for a MMO that's free. They're adding elves and two new classes next month.

Ok Knights are awesome. 1-6 is meh, but at 7 you get a buff that puts holy seals on your target and once 3 are stacked you can regain mana.

Complete high level quests with you first class and turn them in with the secon to level fast.

This game is great. Reached level 10 but can't decide what to choose as my secondary class. My primary class is Rogue.

I personally chose Scout which adds the ability to use a bow. I've seen Rogue/Spellcaster mixes too. It was a tough decision but I believe its changeable.

For some reason this game has made me want to play an actual Pay to Play MMO (I've reinstalled LoTR). The content in Runes of Magic doesn't feel as robust once you get farther in (which shouldn't be such a big knock against, see as how its free).

Fortunately LoTR Online is allowing free play until the 15th <3
