It's still great but the second half is literally full of "this is bullshit" moments. Unless you use a guide or scan the entire game world after every dungeon, you will miss out on a lot. One example is how an important item used to moving around the world and attaining the "true" ending is hidden. By hidden I mean there is a completely random square on the map that teleports you to that item's location. On one hand it is similar to Zelda 1, on the other, this game never once requires you to do anything like that in the rest of the game and feels more like Zelda 3.
Without spoiling anything, the best part of this whole scenario is that Zelda logic tells you "ok, I'll get this item in a later dungeon". So you go through the dungeons and never get the item, right? well you finally figure it out by reading a guide or something. Turns out you lost your chance to get that item because the game randomly decided that you can't do it anymore. You can go and find the things required, but they won't be of any use at this point. Then you realize that you've missed a dozen or so other items, events, and weapons because you didn't talk to every single person after every dungeon. In short: the game is more old-school in that broken way than it leads you to believe.
At least there is a new game plus! wait, nope, hardly anything carries over. Only the two forms of currency and sword "levels". Actual swords, health, magic, etc. and events all have to be redone.
but excuse all my bitching. I did like the game a lot, there was just a lot of bullshit at times.
