In this "general interest" episode we celebrate bad writing we still enjoy from books/film/tv, then investigate the world of Facebook games (50:30), and wrap it up with an Indefensible segment so bad we have to preemptively apologize for it (1:04:29).

I read part of the first one, didn't much care for it.  I hear King writes himself into the story towards the end.  I can't stand that kind of self-fellating, haha.

He does and in the last book he addresses it in a post write up. States that he didn't want to be seen as purposefully stroking his ego by placing himself within it. I personally didn't care for it either (among other things he decided to do with the scenario). But I love the characters he created and evolved throughout the whole series.

You know, I'm a little surprised at the lack of MR. Howell in the Gilligan's Island Love Pillow discussion.

I read the first Dark Tower book and liked it, but I never got around to reading any of the others. Probably just as well.

From reading the Wiki for the dark Tower series, its supposedly tied to  J. J. Abrams who would be Producing and Directing some Movie or TV Series. I would love to see something good come from that.

Also, the podcast has got me interested in watching Dexter. I need to pick it up.

Dexter is awesome.

I saw Eel on XBL burning through one of the seasons, I gather it was probably for the Borecast.

G.I. Joe is still awesome, and I won't hear any arguments to the contrary.

On the subject of bad writing, I used to read Brian Jacques' Redwall series when I was 12 or so.

I liked the books for the war aspect and some of the animals were cool like badgers. I knew it was shitty at the time, especially when Jacques would digress and describe just food for several pages.

I read those books too! Even back then I thought they were just an okay diversion; my favorite author back then was David Eddings.

I would say that it is furry-related, but the books are completely asexual.

Late, late tonight or possibly early tomorrow morning for Episode 20.  Audacity froze and crashed on me when I was just about finished editing it last night, and corrupted one of the imported vocal tracks.  So I basically have to start a new project file and edit the entire show over again when I get home from work this evening :(
