You don't need OFW 6.0 for the Peace Walker demo.  5.55 works fine.

The game reminds me of Portable Ops done RIGHT.  Much better control with better visuals and smoother animation.

Did you ever beat Portable OPs?  I remember you were trying to hook it up to a TV just so that you can control it a little better.

Me, I just gave up after the first boss.  Dragging prisoners back to the truck got boring real fast.  The crappy controls/camera didn't help matters.

The only HD rpgs this gen are going to be coming from Tri-ace & SE + L5's WKS franchise & Namco's Tales franchise.  Every other rpg developer is dead or on DS.  Though Atlus will join the big boys one day.

I'm so utterly out of the loop these days. Few questions.

1. Has Sony shown everything they have to reveal for TGS? Or are there going to be more announcements? As far as I know, the best thing that came out of the keynote was FF8 on the PSN. Could someone post a recap of the keynote if it's really over?

2. Is Square Enix going to have a press conference? Or have they revealed all their TGS announcements as well?

3. Is Konami going to have a conference?

Actually I'm not sure if I'm out of the loop or if TGS is really just that shitty this year. :lol

PSP Go is such a failure. I hope it bombs hard.

I like the motion controls in RE4. But they should make RE5 more balanced. Playing Re4 with waggle made the game way too easy.
And WTF @ dualshock replacing the nunchuck? won't work :lol

The "good will" program sounds exploitable:

Got PSP™? Thinking of going digital with PSPgo?
Get three free games with PSPgo Rewards*

LONDON, 24th September, 2009: To celebrate the upcoming launch of the latest model of PSP™(PlayStation®Portable) Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) is pleased to announce a special promotion to help existing PSP owners with UMD®s (Universal Media Discs), to start their digital games collection for PSPgo.

If you enjoy your PSP, you’re going to love the all-new PSPgo. Say hello to entertainment in your pocket as the sleek, slimline look of PSPgo comes packed with 16GB of built-in storage space – meaning that you can take all your favourite games, photos and more with you wherever you go. And to help you get your PSPgo collection started, we’re giving away three full games for free.*

With PSPgo Rewards you can download three much-loved, or totally new PSP titles for free, and put your new PSPgo to the test. Pick your favourites from a number of popular PSP titles. Get in on the action with Killzone™: Liberation or SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3. Give your reflexes a pounding with WipEout® Pure. Put your skills to the test with Everybody’s Golf™ or echochrome™. Give your brain a workout with Buzz!™: Brain Bender or Master Quiz. Or get quirky, with LocoRoco™ or Patapon™. There are seventeen titles to choose from in all, and the process is simple...

1. Unwrap your shiny new PSPgo and start it up

2. Connect to PlayStation®Network and activate your new or existing PlayStation Network account for PSPgo Rewards

3. Start up your current PSP and connect to PlayStation Network

4. Login using the same PlayStation Network account , and launch PlayStation®Store

5. Pop one of your UMDs into the drive of your current PSP and register on PSPgo Rewards when prompted

6. Download a PSPgo theme

7. Wait for your email voucher for your three free games

8. Choose, download and enjoy!

PSPgo puts you in control, because you can download and store your choice of entertainment. It’s about what you like to play, what you like to look at, what you like to watch and what you like to listen to. And with an ever increasing range of services from Skype® to the soon to launch PlayStation Network Video Store and Digital Comics, plus remote access to your music, photos, videos and more on your PlayStation®3, PSPgo is entertainment without barriers. Be entertained in style - wherever and whenever you are - with PSPgo.

Promotion starts on 1 October 2009 and runs until 31 March 2010. Promotion open to owners of a PSP-1000, 2000 or 3000 and at least one UMD, when they purchase a PSPgo. Titles may vary by territory and age restrictions apply.

Unless it reads your IP/something off your system, couldn't you theoretically keep making new accounts and getting 3 games?

Quote
PlayStation LifeSyle’s TGS 2009 Predictions

    * 250GB PS3 Bundles Revealed
    * Gran Turismo 5 World Wide Release Date Announcement (though not WW)
    * PS2 games/Dreamcast games on the PS Store (lol)
    * Last Guardian Info - Possible Gameplay Trailer (new trailer. gameplay? not so much)
    * Motion Controls Ready for Spring/Summer
    * PS3 Motion Control “Minis” Similar to PSP “Minis” (lol)
    * Heavy Emphasis on 3rd Party RPG support (lol)
    * New Sony RPG(s) (lol™)
    * Yakuza 3 Western Release Date (?)
    * New PSP Games Unveiled (?)
    * Multi PSP Go colors for Japan only

Quite a few of those came from a Sega leaked meeting minutes. What made you think some of them weren't correct?

PSP Go is a total failure.  Reward program sounds dumb and no chance I'll ever get one now.

but for good PSP news:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-09-valkyria-chronicles/56528

Valkyria Chronicles PSP looks pretty much exactly like Valkyria Chronicles PS3.  It's a testament to how lame the PS3 is and how awesome the PSP is.

They seem to be doing fine on handhelds.

I was actually excited about the Go when it was first announced.  I hate UMDs, but without a feasible option to convert your UMD library w/o repurchasing your games, the Go was doomed from the get go, pun intended.

This won't be a problem as long as Sony allows the GO to be cracked.

Forget about repurchasing games.  Most PSP gamers don't purchase games, period.

People buy PSPs for free games.  It's incredibly arrogant for Sony to think otherwise.

If you want to talk Blatent, the new Echochrome PSP game is basically the Echochrome team playing Braid and figuring no one in Japan will know what Braid and figure it's ok to just copy and paste the concept and sell it for $20-40

If this is facetious, you forgot the rolleyes tag. If this is serious, you've forgotten that Sony is putting a non-removable, non-user-serviceable battery in for the stated reason that it will prevent (or make it much more difficult) jailbreaking of the PSP.

couple videos of Dead Rising 2

If you want to talk Blatent, the new Echochrome PSP game is basically the Echochrome team playing Braid and figuring no one in Japan will know what Braid and figure it's ok to just copy and paste the concept and sell it for $20-40

It's a copy of a flash game, not Braid.  Braid took a lot of ideas from various flash games.  The mechanic of time copies is also kinda popular now I guess since there is Time Donkey, the new Ratchet game, and an indie game (that won a prize a year or so ago, just forgot the game) that use it.  But yeah, it's pretty old and it's no surprise that whoever is behind the Echo-whatever games copied it too.  Even as a complete rip, it already looks more fun than Echochrome.  That game looked cool but ended up so damn boring.
