no, i hate on it because it has shitty shooting for combat, horrid class balance, dumb party ai, a terrible ui, dune buggy boogaloo, and terrible itemization.

story/plot/characters are for figgurts in ANY game

u do not like playing as space marine with gun, space marine with gun, or space marine with gun?

class BALANCE, sir! i do not mind playing as a space marine with a gun any more than i mind playing as a spiky-haired doe-eyed figgurt, but when you let me choose my character's class, make sure that they are ALL equally viable, not JUST the psychic powerz class because the biotics special efects look effin' stupid yet are apparently necessary to really enjoy the game. :'(

I don't remember much of a difference between "classes" in Mass Effect.  Regardless of what you picked you were always dude with a gun and some magic and can play it like a TPS and run n' gun except for boss fights.

I played through the game as a soldier and never came across in moments like that.

I played as Vanguard and didn't have a problem.  I did hear stories about how the last boss butt fucks you if you're the classes that only let you use a pistol (adept, I think).

cool, i'm not even gonna bother with SO4 then. just don't have any time to waste on mediocre games. hopefully ff13 will be decent. i'm skeptical though.

um, not really. the last boss hops around and shoots slow missles at you. if anything adept would violate the fuck out of Saren.

I never bothered playing with any weapon other than pistol, because pistol did just fine getting me through the game, last boss included. I'm not even a power gamer like demi or anything.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if DQ series was as reason why J-devs so frequently act like the rest of the world is just a gravy market.

Producer: "Let's focus on selling in Japan, and we'll foist a mediocre localization on the rest of the planet -- it'll be pure profit!"
(months pass, JP version isn't selling, localization is being shopped around)
Producer: "What do you mean no-one wants it?"
