Uh, no. Blood pops out. Money pops out when you get a "payback" kill, meaning you killed the person who killed you.

Multiplayer is incredible. Call of Duty 4 annihilated.

I just spent an hour with some random clan, and the last game winning kill was from a claymore. The killcam for that was hysterical.

I think I like all the maps except Scrapyard - too small. Afghan is one of my favorites.

So far the campaign has been pretty alright.  Other than the ice climbing stuff and Rio mission (I'm on the second one now), it's been a lot of fun.  The snow mission was badass after the ice climbing and before the snowmobile; if there isn't that mission in spec-op, that would suck.  Way better than CoD4, too.  There are still problems here that CoD4 had, but the weird war porn fantasy this game puts you in so stupid and ridiculous that it's awesome.  When Keith David said something like "We gotta secure the Burger Shack", that was kinda awesome.

I don't know how many weapons are in this game, but it seems like there is a shit ton of them lying around.  I don't remember CoD4 having both the variety of weapons and the variety of customization on those weapons.  Most of them feel great to use, too.  Though, I don't understand what dual weapons is all about.  I grab one pistol, I try to grab another, it replaces it.  But I find a dual pistol set on the ground and then I can use it? ok, sure.

The graphics are also kinda nice-ish, surprisingly.  Again, I think that has to do with the locations you're in.

And PC online can be shit, I'll find out later, but single player seems pretty much the same quality as previous games sans lean option (which is a weird feeling since this game is exactly like CoD4 and you have the muscle memory going on).

It's also got an earlier level, the one where you crashed and had to get to the gas station (where the next level you covered them with the AC130) as well.

But thanks for letting me know why there was money popping out like that. Makes sense.

Campaign was short, expected it.  Didn't expect the ending, but didn't like the cliffhanger/setup for CODMW3, but whatever.

Multiplayer is a blast.  I didn't play COD4 in preparation so I'm rusty, but I loves me some Hardcore S&D and TDM.

I don't mind earned killstreaks, especially since there are limited spots. I fucking hate the killstreak crate system, and that includes when I get the reward. Two minutes in, an enemy calls in a care package. Shoot the dude, grab the crate and get an AC-130. It's ridiculous.

One cool addition is the scrambler. It can be a good perk, but it's honestly at its best when an enemy uses it, since you can basically home in on his location by the severity of the map distortion.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you guys to finish the campaign? Disregarding the time spent replaying the first few levels on harder difficulty, I think my finish time was around 7 hours on Hardened. I actually took my time depleting the troops in some areas, which is stupid since it's all about hitting the checkpoints, but at least it demonstrated that the infinite respawn thing was gone.

I won't use cheap weapons and tactics out of principle.

In Halo terms, I hate people who whore the sword, needler, warthog turret, spartan laser, and ghosts. I won't use those things. I'll rarely pick up a sniper rifle, and that is usually just so the other team can't get it.

Eurogamer has PS3 vs 360 MW2 article,long one

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-modern-warfare-2-face-off

360 wins as usual in visuals and in performance-the difference in performance is quite big when things get hectic.

But one is very interesting, streaming related
Quote
n the shots below, we see the 360 rendition transition from a medium-quality texture to the full version in just one second via an HDD install, while it takes four seconds streaming from DVD. The PS3 version on the other hand takes eight full seconds, kicking off with a very low-quality asset that you don't see at all on 360. While the impact is limited to certain scenes only, it does suggest that an optional install for the Sony platform would have been worthwhile.

Slow blu-ray :yuck

I don't think you guys realize how nerds operate.  Those people are just playing it to legitimately give a reason for hating it, even if they enjoy the game.

I mentioned it on gaf and here earlier, and it's mostly just jarring.  Lean would have been great to have, but it doesn't kill the game or anything for me.  Even 4 hours in there are times when I keep forgetting you can't lean because the game plays exactly like CoD4.  It's something that was second nature in CoD4 and you have to learn how to approach the same situations differently now, mostly by actually strafing out behind the wall and getting shot up in the process.

How much meth did you smoke before declaring this campaign "kick ass?"

Hogan's Alley shooting gallery mechanics dominate every single level and the story is something Michael Bay would idly scribble in the post coital mess on some PA's back.

In fact, I am convinced that the storyline is intentionally bad, and that MW2's plot is vicious satire.

OMFG I was trying to remember the name of this game while I was playing last night.  The guys pushing the window shutters open and popping out to shoot totally remind me of that.
