I've enjoyed this season of Curb but I've missed the fact that there hasn't been really an over-arching plot. Normally the season has a narrative connection running through it and this season hasn't.

My favorite bit of the last episode btw is easily missable. Leon is walking down the street with Larry and they are talking about something and a man passes Leon and as a form of acknowledgement Leon briefly glances at the man and says white man in the same manner as if you would say what's up or hello. I had to rewind it to make sure and I died laughing.

Journeyman

I like this show.  Soap MacTavish is the lead.

edit:  also, Day Break got better as it went on.  Main character was still sometimes annoyingly dumb.

after Journeyman (which is great) I might continue with Early Edition.  Random shows about people knowing the future r fun.

Day Break and Journeyman are on Hulu.  Only annoyance of watching Journeyman on Hulu is "this% of Journeyman viewers like John Doe: 'I don't know things I'm supposed to do, but I do know things I'm not supposed to know'" everytime.

Finished Justified, season 2. Things went pretty much how I expected, but with more shooting. I am pretty sure I've got season 3 sussed as a "return to basics" (season 1), and it's not going to hold up. The characters were better developed this time around, so returning to antagonism between Raylan and Boyd will be make or break.

Journeyman was great. I was very sad when that was canned. Daybreak was less good but still enjoyable for me. Although the ending to daybreak is crazy rushed and forced but that was to be expected.

Just watched The Stone Tape before the Ravens game.  Holy fuck amazing.  It doesn't look like it's readily available.  But if you find it, go in as cold as possible.  I thought it was about something similar, but the idea of the film I had in my mind was radically different from what I got.  I'm watching The Woman in Black now as it's by the same writer (Nigel Kneale) and I'm curious about the remake (by the director of Eden Lake).

edit:  The Woman in Black was ok, but not that great.  ugh. the trailer for the remake.  always with the scratched out eyes?

Watched the series finale for Entourage. Terrible. That last season was the worst one by far. I liked the show when it first began but much like Weeds, it lost itself the further it went along.

Didn't care for the curb finale either outside of some of the michael j fox stuff.

I thought this season of Curb was great in spite of some uncharacteristically sloppy/forced setups. I would agree it was a bit inconsistent, but it's still not degrading as rapidly as, say, Sunny. I like the whole Larry running wild thing they have going on now that Cheryl is out of the picture.

And was it just me or did Michael J. Fox look terrible? I mean I haven't seen him recently but MAN :-\

did you watch it during the original airings? because a few weeks back a new episode was aired independent of the first season's airing: http://www.hulu.com/watch/270875/happy-endings-why-cant-you-read-me

the entire show was aired out of order

Yeah I figured it was out of order.  We watched it when it aired and the in built timeline for stuff made no sense.

I caught that episode and liked it.  Good show.  Can't wait for this coming season.

Watched Free Agents pilot and Up All Night pilot.  Up All Night was pretty damn solid as a pilot, Free Agents was not as good as the UK version.  The leads are very very solid right out of the gate, but the supporting cast was horrible.  Anthony Stewart Head was so much better as the horrifically filthy boss in the UK version.  Check that one out.

Finished the season. Good season! The show does feel a lot more contrived these days, but it seems like they're working in the formula better than they did on seasons 5 and 6. 7 and 8 has been a miraculous recovery for a series I expected to keep getting much worse.

I liked the first episode a lot. There's a lot which has been done and done again in other TV series since, so it's nice to see where it (maybe) came from. Then I hit up the wiki to see how much of the show actually is out there, available. Am I in for 4 seasons, or 5? It turns out, 2 seasons. And then it appears to have had some continuation in novel/prose form. And there's a space virus and a group that's the illuminati but not... WTF? There are so many interesting ways to take it, but apparently Cameron's co-writer wasn't on the same page.

Watched a handful of premiers because this is the shit I look forward to when I am not writing oh dear god

Raising Hope - Really good episode. The TV medical advice gag was ace. The resolution of Jimmy's talents was fun and felt like a real life explanation.

New Girl - As said earlier, eep. It got two smirks out of me. It suffers from all the normal pitfalls. Everyone is pretty and can afford a nice place to live while having rather ordinary jobs. Also, I'm supposed to buy that Zooey has trouble with men. Right.

Modern Family - Real disappointing. Feels like they are mailing it in and the second episode felt like an overused sitcom plot that was not freshened up enough in this recycling. Characters are stereotypes of themselves. Everything feels too forced. Phil is the one redeeming factor.

Archer - I like the way they balance Archer's idiocy with his super spy awesomeness. Also, bearded Archer was awesome.
