It will definitely sell better than the first and a first month of 600k too 700k for the NPD isn't too bad a prediction.

The general issue from a sales perspective (and not a gamer perpsective) is that for whatever reason Sony hasn't been able to create a franchise like Gears or Halo that is able to both explode out of the gate and rack up sales over a long period of time to become a mega blockbuster. The Fable series sells about as well as some of the top Sony franchises to put things in perspective.

iirc, the only exclusive that outsold Fable II on the PS3 is MGS4.

Fable 2 sold about 2.6 million by around March of this year. That's more than Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 sold even though they are in a much more hot genre for this gen.

Once again not about subjective taste as people will come down on either side of that. Just noting that for what ever reason Sony has a harder time creating that grand slam selling hit for the mass of consumers.

Gran Turismo of course seemingly has a good chance of being that title if it still has the same pull it use to.

Wasn't there a recent report that the NPD would start tracking digital sales too?  Not sure to what extent they will get buy in from the console manufacturers but they're hoping to remedy this disconnect.

As for Uncharted 2 predictions,NPD data from June this year shows that Uncharted is somewhere between 500 and 750k,in 1.5 years...just saying

As for the future predictions,not sure about Alan Wake,but Mass Effect and Splinter Cell are going to be huuge.
Bioshock 2 also,leaked NPD data has shown almost 9:1 ratio,360:PS3...expect it to be heavily skewed towards 360
