My car continues to have problems.
It's been acting up since November. Such symptoms include the check engine light, service soon light, and on occasion, a reduced power light where my speed would automatically cut down to 10 mph or under. Sometimes the low oil pressure and battery lights would flash. Which sucks but the car still runs so it is most likely not an engine issue. When the oil and battery lights hit, the car basically stalls.
Cue about a month of the back and forth with the mechanics and myself. Cue about $300 (well, $280 if you want to get all technical n' shit) of ridiculously expensive cab rides and hitching rides with my co-workers. This obviously is very stressful, which led to a lot of the dumb posts I made earlier in December (including the week break I took), lots of sleep deprivation because the cab rides I could get would be between 5 AM and 8 PM, so yeah, I'd work 15 hour days because there was no other way to go home.
Finally I bitch and get a loaner car because I had to make it to the interview. They claimed to have fixed it but the bill sucked ($700) as it was a crank sensor that needed to be replaced along with some coolant issues that contributed to $400. I was happy to pay it because it had to end, right?
Well, wrong. The coolant lights and engine shit is all there again. I suppose I have to hitch another ride on Monday, which I hate doing, but I'm getting tired of this dumb bullshit. I'm considering becoming religious in the rare hopes that there is a God or Allah out there that will help me out in securing that job transfer. It could be a pay cut but the cost of living on my own in relative isolation (other than getting rides from co-workers but this applies strictly to work; I'm fucked otherwise for doing anything else) might be more than I think. You got the cab rides, you got the efficiency apartment (vs. living with parents or finding a place that isn't gouging you despite offering small space), and not being close to friends and family.
It might make for a contribution to White Whine but this crap is long since getting old. I really can't afford a new car and besides, how would I actually get there and shop around, other than to shell out another $50-60 for a cab ride (plus waiting out in the cold for over an hour if one is not immediately available)? I'll try to make the best of it but this is almost unreal. I'm going to watch a movie tonight to get my mind off of it but god damn.
TL;DR version: I'm sick of this shit.
