Yeah I saw that the other day.  Looks pretty phoned in.  No story, blah graphics, probably blah controls with no 2nd analogue for free camera.

passing.

Most games have a story and original levels, yes.

This is just a compilation of the missions from previous games.  There's like no point to it.

The Gundam Battle games don't really have a story. I kinda figured this would be the same idea. Besides, the point is to fuck shit up in giant robots.

Awesome.  That actually makes me really happy because I think there's a good chance the whole Wing crew will be in.  Only 2 missing now.

It also sets a good precedent for them including support cast from Gundam shows in either GM3 or GM4+  Like they could add in the rest of the OO meisters, or other SEED characters, etc...

I saw that.  I'll pick it up eventually (on steam when it's $5) because I like mech games and if it's anything like SH Homecoming it won't be that bad.  Will just be totally average and do no justice to the series name.  But it'll still be cool looking mechs shooting stuff for a dozen hours.

Only 10 days until Gundam Musou 3.  I'm getting pretty excited.   :hyper :omg :hyper

Gundam Musou 3 got a 34/40.  Not that it means anything coming from famitsu.

GM1 = 33/40
GM2 = 36/40 (what were they thinking)
GM3 = 34/40

First DLC unit pack for GM3 comes out a week after release on the 23rd.

This and the fact the DLC characters + future DLC OO Meisters are listed in the credits gives me hope they might actually integrate into the story modes instead of being throwaway units with no story mode and no point.

Reading that I'm a little worried the missions will basically be:

1. History/Official storyline for each series like the official storylines from GM1
2. An original cross-over storyline with only 2 sides and everyone is lumped into one of the sides.

I guess that wouldn't be that bad if even within the cross-over storyline each character got their own unique cutscenes instead of half the characters seeing cutscene group A and the other half seeing group B.

We'll see.

Also I gotta wonder how long the history modes are.  I mean they're worth a trophy but how many history missions can you have for Gundam X when there is only A SINGLE UNIT FROM THE ENTIRE SERIES INCLUDED  :lol

I was talking to Ichi last night and he said that the 360 version displays the achievments in English and refers to the game as Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. MAF was playing the game last night and the title was displayed in Japanese, but he hadn't updated his trophy list so I don't know if those are in English or not.

So L is out a month already and Jump Festa is going on and still no SRW announcement.

I'm getting a little worried the April 11th 20th anniversary of SRW won't be the release date for the next big console SRW, but rather the announcement date and the game will be in the fall 2011 or later.  Would be kind of sad if that happens since SRW was always ~3 years per team for PS2 ones and since each team released a year+ apart there was only a 1 year gap and then 2 years of console SRW back to back.  But it could go to 4 years per team and have 2 years of gaps between console SRW titles on PS3 :\  If OG3 isn't until the end of 2011, it means next licensed SRW is until the end of 2012.

/fingers crossed that we get an announcement in the next 4 weeks.  If there's no announcement by Jan's end, the game isn't coming in April.

Game is awesome. Cel-shading looks great.

You don't get to select a storyline and play through it right away. Predetermined characters/suits for the first few levels of what I've seen so far.

Only complaint is the camera seems way too close to your character.

The camera is both awesome and awful at the same time.  I love the close-up action, looks cool!  But yeah it can be lolz to keep track of stuff.  Luckily I realized I could play most musou games blindfolded  :lol

Hey Mr. Gundam, do you have a headset?  If you do I'll try to get my old warhawk headset working for future matches.
Also do you use aim?  Would make it a lot easier to setup lobbys than typing in XMB messages.

I'm probably going to play with randoms online for a while after I finish the first storyline since it seems like the fastest way to grind out some xp/money for my setsuna.

I'm still working on the first one.  Been doing a lot of other missions and stuff.  Almost have the full moveset for Setsuna.  He's about to hit lvl.23 and you finish your moveset at lvl.24 with the final SP bar.

Will finish the first storyline tonight.

If you haven't, you should do all the memorial missions once you get them.  They unlock stuff like rank 2/3/4 blueprints and more pilot skills.

Also the Big Zam is really annoying to fight and all the non-story maps are random.  I got owned by it and lost the map and then I tried the map again and it was a completely different layout with no big zam or MA and I won easily.  I think I'll use that knowledge to avoid fighting MAs in non-story missions.

So what's the online like?

I'm tempted to get this, but I still have Sengoku Basara 3 and Hokuto Musou to finish up, Sengoku Musou 3Z hits in February, and then the big one...Shin Sangoku Musou 6, is hitting in March, and that one looks like it's going to end up owning all the rest.

Heh.  Yeah I think they should have ditched the MAs all together.  Thankfully you can put the game on easy for all the 5+ star super difficult missions that give good rewards ;)

4 dudes hitting an enemy who can't move because he's getting stumbled in every direction  :lol

It's fun but really easy.  At least on the 4 star missions we did.  Might get harder on higher missions and I KNOW it's pretty hard even with 4p going against giant mobile armors.

It's easy to get into a room with randoms.  You can jump in and start a match in like a minute.  But after the match it kicks you out to the menu, which is dumb.
Also the camera is fine for single player but in online it makes it hard to find the other guys even if they're in the same room for you.  The camera is very zoomed in so you just see the group of enemies right in front of you and nothing surrounding you.
