Greater Seattle Area - You Fail
« on: December 16, 2006, 01:00:00 AM »
The way the Greater Seattle Area has handled the black-outs created by the windstorms is just fucking embarassing. Not only did everyone decide to flood the streets on a day when signals ARE NOT OPERATING, but not one official was out there directing even the busiest intersections. That's right, the flow of traffic was left entirely up to the drivers. Genius.

Add to that the lines that EXTENDED into these intersections that lead to various gas-stations where old people lined up their various vehicles to load up on gasoline as if the mother fucking apocalypse was upon us. If they weren't at gas stations YET, they were in intersections keeping the flow of traffic behind with their indecisive crappo old people behavior.

Various food locations that DID have power were swamped by herds of idiots who had one purpose in mind:

Congregate, and proceed to ask everyone they meet "Do you have power?". Fuck if they couldnt find someone to talk to they jumped in their car and spent the whole day jamming up the streets as they yapped on their cell-phone no doubt calling the already slammed Utility companies asking:

A.) When will I get power back.
B.) What the fuck are you guys doing.

Or possibly calling their friends and asking:

"Do you have power where you are?"

Or stating:

"I don't have power where I am, omg traffic is bad, all these people are on their cell-phones"

I mean it's not even like they were upset, THEY WERE HAVING FUN! THIS WAS THEIR BIG MOTHERFUCKING CHANCE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE AND TALK TO PEOPLE. They:

A.) Couldnt do anything else! Might as well walk.
B.) Common ground of WONDER AND AWE at mothernature making power go out to discuss with people they've never met.

I honestly can't imagine how recycled these conversations were and I am sure if ANYONE reached a point of lucidity today they will look back and say JESUS CHRIST I SPENT 24 HOURS HAVING THE SAME CONVERSATION OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

How about looting? I know there was a shitload going on in NYC during that massive Northeast blackout a few years back.

We're just fine in Seattle, never lost power and things are normal. I do know that pretty much everywhere outside of Seattle got screwed, however.

TVC must still be without power in Bellevue, I haven't seen him on EB, GAF or AIM since Thursday night.

TVC is winging his merry way off to Pennsylvania! Yesterday he was without power and was trying to get my daughter to bap me and MAF with the dreaded Inflatable Dolphin +3 of Smiting [Holy Avenger, Strong Vs. Nerds]

He went home for the holidays? Good for him. I was going to invite him to a nice holiday dinner with my wife and I, thinking he would be away from his family.
