FFS why not let me have a little bit of time before exposing me?  I didnt like ME2 and it is because i found it boring because i found it no different than 100's of other rpg's, but i have played over 200 rpg's and that is pretty much all i play.  So i doubt that many people enjoying the game could feel the same way about the game and i accept that it is a good game.  But for me it is dull because i have been through thsi before in the form of other games in terms of the rpg elements(not the fps elements, i dont play fps games).

What gave you away is trying to use NSMB as a counter-point when the entire point of NSMB is that it is like a game from the 80s.  It's called New Super Mario Bros for a reason.

As for ME2, it was the dismissal of the shooter elements is since that takes away a huge draw of the game.  It's like saying NSMB is a dull game because the card matching mechanic hasn't evolved in two decades (not the platforming elements).

Who cares about whether you shoot in an rpg or not, it is only a means to an end, to me it was a necessary evil much like combat in a medievil set rpg.

Most of the rpg's i play today i find boring.  But if i have enough customisation options i will play it for a lot longer than one that hasnt got much in that sense.

I didnt mind deus ex though for some reason.  I believe it was the customisation ability that pulled me through.
