what Ive been doing is setting way points ahead of Frank for the survivors, then clearing the path for them with the Clown Saw (love the Clown Saw!) while theyre running to the waypoint. I found having them stay put while you clear the path just made them get munched on much easier. You have to keep them moving.

don't the clown saws eventually wear out?  I restarted the game at level 20, what kind of run-through is best at a low level?

the clown saw will break, but if you collect the 3 right books, you can kill 2000+ zombies before it craps out. Also if you exit and re-enter Wonderland Plaza the saw will re-spawn by the Space Rider ride.

For a low level dude you should probably get your level up first before you try some of the harder run-throughs? Either you can enjoy the story (try and snap pictures of all psychos/surivors and do as many scoops as you can) or if you want to power level and unlock a sweet weapon, go for zombie genocider.

Waypoints + guns = far less babysitting. Seriously, give your group of survivors a couple guns (shotguns and machine guns are best) and you won't need to do much babysitting. I always tried to pick up a few weapons in the gun shop whenever I passed by since they help out quite a bit. Doing that, the only time I lost a survivor was toward the end when I ran 5 or 6 of them through all the zombies in Paradise Plaza at night time. Which leads me to my next point - always try to keep at least one queen for emergency situations. There's a photography magazine you can get that makes identifying which zombies are carrying a queen much easier.

Isn't it dirt-simple to create and capture your own queen? I'm recalling something about Orange Juice, but peeking at my Achievements, I haven't played it in almost exactly 3 years, so I'm probably misremembering something.

Am Nintenho, in many cases you'll be well-served by restarting the game rather than lose your hard-earned PP. It's possible to be the Save System Master, but replaying through the game with a higher powered Frank can be very enlightening, and it will always give you a better chance of not falling to the same trap/psycho/horde as last time.

Yeah used the same one and it was all fine till I had to go get the chick hanging off the Bunny. As soon as I warped to paradise, the cultists were there (1:30, he lists them coming at 3) and i think that fucks up the chick hanging from the Bunny.

thats what boned me, I saved my game in Paradise before the cultists were there. reloaded my save and was greeted with the cultist cutscene  :'( (Game clock was like 1pm). Then the Above the Law scoop gets borked, only one chick tied up as opposed to four in the clothes shop. I tried working around it, like going to wonderland, killing the dude hanging off bunny, going back to paradise, then back to wonderland, hoping the scoop would get fixed, but nope.

Im going to try the one at Gamefaqs when I next try and tackle this. Its more fiddly I think but much more detailed and thorough. Its step-by-step guide so theres much less assumption on my part and less margin for error.

As I said before it wasnt a fruitless run, got like 80% of the PP stickers in my spare time so can finish those up so it wont all be for naught!

Still a bit bummed but Dead Rising owns so it aint too bad.

I was happy to wait out for the Mega Buster becuase its awesome, but yeah the mask is just a cosmetic thing. Maybe if it scared away the zombies or something  :lol

Are you sure thats not just the PP count for that run-through?

With PP Collector put of the way Im gonna start up the Saint/Tranmissionary run tonight hopefully. Cant wait! Dead Rising is still just so good, best game on 360.

I am using that Gamefaqs document as well, but I'm not going to do Transmissionary. I'm positive I'd get bitten and cut off the message before it finishes, he'd call me back "DON'T HANG UP ON ME LIKE THAT" and I'd have to replay from the previous Save point.  :-\ No, I think I'll live without it, since I'm also planning on not doing the Survivor ones.

What's the command again for getting the survivors to charge to the waypoint? I seem to remember one, but I may have just taken to spamming Y Button while clearing a path for them.

Currently at 40K zombies killed on my Zombie Genocider run, so I can get the megablaster and then do Saint. Looking forward to dancing with that clown, and the butch dyke with the four women hostages so I can get Frank the Pimp, a la my current avatar rags:

They don't FOLLOW the waypoints is the problem. I ended up figuring out a system where I clear the area out first, but because they're so slow and move like distinguished mentally-challenged fellows, I missed a scoop and had to scrap everything.

Then just go swinging clearing a path with your clown saw while theyre already going. Saves them standing still and getting munched while you clear a path. Also if you clear a path, then set the waypoint, chances are some more zombies will have shambled into your wake. I found it to be difficult at first but once you get the hang of it it isnt too bad. Playing a lot of Battalion Wars helped...

so youve given up on Saint altogther? This must be the cheev that separates the men from the mega-men! My drive to succeed is absolute. I will get that cheevo.

At the very least, it separates the busters from the real mega busters. No, wait, that's Zombie Genocider.

HEY! I just popped Zombie Genocider without finishing the game. Neat. I guess I have to be on the helipad in a few hours to get the Real Mega Buster though.

Yeah, you get the achievements as soon as you complete the tasks, but if you want the items they unlock you must get an ending.

We'll see. I may gave it another shot tonight, but the guides would be more helpful if they had time goals. Like YOU SHOULD BE AT THIS POINT by 2PM IF NOT YOU'RE FUCKED.

7 Day survival is going to be a whore though.

man I was set on finishing up the Saint run tonight but Ive had such a bananas day at the office I dunno. Might just play some Borderlands because its easy and you can relieve stress by shooting shit in the face for several hours.

Im really enjoying the Saint run, its hard as nails and Ive had several nail biting, edge of my seat moments, and several victory fist-pumps when Ive gotten my crew of 6 survivors back to the security room, after answering all of Otis' calls along the way, and with 10 in-game minutes to spare before the next case expired! Youre always playing down to the wire and it FEELS GOOD. 28 hours to go, currently all survivors, cases, and scoops accounted for. Got it in the bag mayne

UPDATE: finished main story, all scoops done, got Transmissionary, Full Set and Snuff Shot B. Now just gotta wait out the last 10 hours, get to the helipad, get ending A, then beat Overtime Mode for my Saint cheevo

Combos and weapon choices all matter. It's a serious tactical brawler, and I'm having a real love/hate relationship with it. Mostly love.

There are some sequences that are, well, hard on the Hard difficulty: I just finished the dragon sequence. 6 stage boss battle? Holy mackerel. And it's a well-designed boss except it's virtually impossible to differentiate between its normal multiple-hit strike and the unblockable. Or it may be that environmental hazards cause continuous blocking to fail. All I know is sometimes I blocked every single attack, and other times Conan took an assful of giant serpent even though I was blocking and suddenly the block was broken by its attack.

Mostly very good stuff, and it seems like Nihillistic S/W was in love with the source material.

just got the Saint achievement!  :D

only need Frank the Pimp and 7 day survivor now (well, I need Tour Guide and 5 day survivor also but those are pack-in deals)

Interestingly, I unlocked the Jason mask at the end of my Saint playthrough? I guess it just checks for what cheevos you have unlocked when you get an ending, it doesnt matter what playthrough you got them.

Here are a few things that might help:
-I used the guide iconoclast posted, but there are quite a few errors in regards to Otis call/scoop times. This guide here:http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/928326-dead-rising/faqs/44422 is 100% correct, and serves as a good checklist for the Transmissionary cheev. I used the guides in conjunction with each other.

- If a scoop doesnt call in at the said time, chances are you have a group of survivors with you (or some to rescue), as there can only be a total of 8 in the mall at any one time. For example: Above the Law didnt call in at Noon on 20th, becuase that scoop has 4 survivors and I already had a few with me. I thought I was FUBAR'ed, but I took my current group back to the security room, then upon returning to the Warehouse Otis called with the scoop at 1.20pm. Im not sure how long you have until they cut off for good, though.

-Also the guide that icono posted assumes you are superman in terms of speed, so you will have to use a bit of initiative sometimes and juggle the objectives accordingly, depeding on where you are in the mall. There were times when the FAQ said to take survivors back to the security room, and go back and get someone else. Chances are you can often pick up more survivors on the way and save time on backtracking.

Lastly, good luck! Save when youre doing well, but not too often so you dont save yourslef into a hole. If youve wasted a bit of time due to the distinguished mentally-challenged AI (happens a lot), reload your save, so you can optimise your time. Its a tough cheev, but totally do-able, and really stisfying.

I'm about to finish Zombie Genocider (all I'm focusing on in my first playthrough).  IIRC, you have to be where the top of the elevator to the warehouse is at the 72 hour mark to get your mega buster right?

yeah, I finally got it.  I think I'll go fort the transmissionary now and some photography ones.  doing saint at the same time sounds too hard.  Transmissionary alone would get you Ending A and unlock Overtime Mode right?

I got 960/1000 now. "only" need 5 and 7 day survivor cheevs for my 1000. Apparently these arent hard at all if you have the mega buster, but I need to commit to an entire saturday to get them.... hmm.

Iconoclast, could you fill me in on how you prepared for this run? i.e what FAQ is best? There are a lot of resources on the web about infinity mode.

I just used this tool and went for it, didn't bother reading any FAQs. http://hoddans.com/tool/drsurvival/

Just kill most/all the psycopaths and survivors when they spawn, because they will drop food for you. Once the sniper family spawns in the park, go grab the car in front of the underground area and run them all over. They drop TONS of food you can live off of for a long time. Beyond that, everything else is pretty straight forward; someone spawns, kill them, grab their food and find a safe area to camp for a while. And of course, make sure you grab the three survival books before you eat anything.

Keep in mind that there's a glitch that will crash your game if you enter the food court between certain hours on day 3 or 4. Can't remember exactly when, but that tool has a warning for it when it's approaching.
