Fable 1 a Zelda clone?  I can see it but it is just as much rpg as a Zelda clone, you get to marry after all and make a lot of "role playing" decisions and IIRC there were no pitfalls in Fable 1.  And i wasnt being condescending.  Reread what i said, i never said Fable 1 was crap.  And who in their right mind would play and beat a game they dont enjoy unless they are a reviewer?

WHen I hit 'Start' pop up a menu with all equipment and potions and shit. Let me bind potions. Add a tab called 'Journal'.

Fixed.

Fable 1 was probably a better game but doesnt gome close to the greatness of Fallout(not 3) or Baldurs gate or Planescape Torment.  At the time KotOR was probably the best rpg available.  It seems as time passes us we are getting crappier and crappier rpg's and people still love them.

:rofl You are so dumb. Who compares Fable to FALLOUT, BALDURS GATE, or PLANESCAPE

Yeah, Fable is an action/RPG, emphasis on action. It has much more in common with Zelda than Baldur's Gate or Planescape.

The changes in Fable just take it from being an action rpg to something like animal crossing...at least that's the stuff I enjoyed in Fable 2.

I actually kind of liked Fable 2, but it's like a roller coaster with a huge 10,000 foot drop at the start and then it swings around at sea level for another 10 hours before dropping you off.

It just feels like you've seen and done everything about 40% of the way through. The only thing left is the story.

Played through all the DLC this week since I got it half price a few weeks ago.

Pretty lame, glad I didn't buy the Platinum Hits version to get to it. Knothole was good enough for $5, had some shit to do and a cohesive little story, shops etc. See The Future was shit. Even shorter, even more collectathon, gives cheevs that should have been in the game to begin with, two completely unrelated missions and a useless cutscene.

They seem to have lifted the sale. Dashboard says 19.99 at checkout, Web marketplace says the same. When I first tried it a day or two ago, it said "Free" but then at checkout said the product can't be purchased via the web marketplace, returning an error. So... typical Microsoft consistency?

I'd have downloaded it for free, just to finish out the Gargoyles and collection crap, so I guess not being able to download it is kind of a blessing in disguise.

If I can tolerate the bugs of New Vegas which are herculean then I can tolerate the bugs of Fable 3 I'm guessing.

The early impressions of people I've read are pretty good so hopefully I enjoy this more than I did Fable 2 which is an average game.

Maybe it's a weapon pack with only two weapons unlocked. Get ready to pay for a 6kb file to unlock the other weapons.

The scores sound about right.

The Giant Bomb review sound about right. In every fable for every interesting or cool thing they do there is something absolutely distinguished mentally-challenged they do that matches it and leaves a sour taste in your mouth. The interface sounds just as bad as it was in Fable 2 for different reasons.

Quote
Now, in order to change your clothing or weapons, or look at the map, or check your quest log--to do anything managerial at all, really--your character has to bodily teleport to a small hub level and then physically run up to the wall in your armory to change your weapons out, or over to the map table to view the world map. It's nice to get a visual representation of things like new clothing before you use them, but this intermediate step between exploring the world and accessing important information starts to make the game feel ponderous after a while.

They did the same thing with Black & White and it was a pain and a half then as well.

So far the game seems to run much smoother and look better too. I am liking it. It seems like all I can do when I talk to people is shake hands and burp though, I was ok with the emotion wheel from the last game.

Lionhead's stories and exposition are still insanely heavyhanded

I've always hated that emotion wheel stuff from every game so the more they remove of that, the more I would probably like it.

You need to upgrade that(road to rule).Everything is streamlined now, even that.Floating letters, yay. No chance to miss now though.

There is one thing that i really don't like...inability to change magic in real-time,you have to go to the "map world" armory... :yuck
If somebody finds a way to do that, please let me know :)

I'm already getting tired of this game. The new menu isn't working well after all. Changing weapons and magic can be reall tiresome because you'll have to walk all the way to a different room to equip different shit. Just takes too long. What the hell where they thinking? And the graphics seem to be worse than in Fable II. The texturing is so bad and draw distance is horrible. A lot of screen tearing too.

Definitely the worst Fable so far.

Played for about 2 hours so far. I don't know. I kinda like it. I mean its Fable and all so if you like that style of game I think you will feel the same about this. Basically its a slightly streamlined version of Fable 2. Instead of everything being open to you from the very beginning you basically unlock most of the stuff through the experience system. So it essentially serves as an extended tutorial. The hardcore probably won't like that part of it but its fine to me.

The menu thing is both good and bad. It's relatively fast. It's better for showing off the visual aspect of things. It's worse for not being quite as fast as it would be if it was just a normal menu. Basically while maybe it gets annoying later on when you have more stuff to deal with it, early on I haven't found it as annoying as I thought I would.

Story seems better. Humour seems better. I mean once again its Fable. It seems like a slightly refined Fable 2 which is a good or a bad thing depending on how you felt about Fable 2.

Game is really funny especially in that brit humour kind of way. I'm actually really surprised in that regard because I didn't find the original or Fable 2 very funny. The voice acting is great.

Its also crazy easy. Just like Fable 2 was. And why does my golden bread crumb trail keep disappearing on me...

You unlock expressions on the road to rule and then when you interact with people it displays the context of what you do with them. So instead they switch out. So at first you might be able to dance with them. And then you can play patty cake with them. And so on.

Honestly I never liked the whole expression system period so for me its no big deal. Basically its made them more or less interchangable it mostly feels like. Personally I would like it stripped from Fable period whatever the form is.

Game is getting better and better. Some of the sidequests are really good. I'm loving the humor too. Definitely the funniest Fable so far  :lol

The combat is quite bad though. Very clunky, and the enemies are so stupid. They just stand there and wait to get slashed or shot.

Also encountered a few bugs so far. But nothing game breaking. And my dog is fucking distinguished mentally-challenged. He always gets stuck in the most stupid places.
