28 Weeks Later had a pretty weak script [despite some promise early on] and paper-thin characters, but I'll let that slide since it was otherwise a pretty visceral zombie action movie. I probably won't ever watch it again, but it kept me in the seat and entertained, so whatever. I'd use similar words to describe The Crazies.

the subway night-vision scene in 28 Weeks Later is bloody awesome. Entire movie was way better than it should have been. Thumbs up.

The first half of 28 Weeks Later was good. The second half was shit, IMO.

I'm still pretty pissed at the director for the way he handled the mass outbreak scene. That could have been the most disturbing, visceral scene in the history of zombie films, but instead he mangled it with horrible editing and stupid gimmicks like red filters. I couldn't get back into the movie after that point.

What I wanted was for someone to actually film something like the verbal description of the airport outbreak that one of the characters gives in 28 Days Later.

The beginning scene of 28 weeks later is amaaaaaaaaaaazing.  I was so fucking hyped for the movie after that.  And I hated a good portion of 28 days later.  But fuck, that beginning scene was so fucking good and the rest was so fucking terrible.

good flick. 7/10

not scary tho. movies rarely are anymore so I wasn't surprised.

one little weird thing in the movie that i noticed but wasn't really a negative:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
that group of hunter dudes? there were three of em. but when they attacked the main characters at the end, there were only two.

I caught a matinee with Disposable White Guy and my brother today. Pretty middle-of-the-road flick, not really great. We were somewhat entertained. It helped that the theater was a ghost town, so I could wisecrack about it the entire flick.

Not enough gore or nudity. Also noticed the continuity error that fistfulofmetal picked up on.

Thought the ending was pretty lame.

This is one of those "watch on cable on a lazy Sunday afternoon and never see ever again" type of flicks.

Meh, I was never into the zombie-via-biological means type sub genre of horror movies. Prefer the supernatural stuff.

Yeah, I thought once the film devolved in to 28 Weeks Later: The American Version, it became just kind of, I dunno, bearable.

The coolest part was the beginning. Or the crazy rednecks running around hunting people (whom, I joked to Disposable White Guy, were not actually infected... but just rednecks). Everything else is just stuff we've seen before.

None of the acting is terrible, but this felt almost soulless. No edge. And I'm sorry, but if you're going to make me sit through a derivative horror film, there damn better well be some tits.

The scene with
spoiler (click to show/hide)
the car wash was totally distinguished mentally-challenged.  I get what they were trying to do there, but it just came off as entirely hokey rather than suspenseful.  Timothy Olyphant's ability to act like Billy Bob Thornton didn't help either.

What did you expect from a movie directed by Michael Eisner's kid?  I would describe his previous movie, Sahara the same exact way - soulless.

The sad thing is, this means I have seen every Breck Eisner film in theaters. And to be fair, it wasn't as bad as Sahara - which was bad.

That means you're as qualified as anyone to write a thesis on Breck Eisner's filmography!
