What's there to tell? Some fatass from FGC jumps in victory, and it cuts to a scene of an earthquake happening -- unrelated to the actual EVO/tourney.

you see its funny because its implying that his jumping is causing the earthquake to happen in the unrelated convention. and from what i can see, the convention looks like it's regarding Windows XP? so the hidden layer is also that the jump cause an earthquake to occur in the past.

(Image removed from quote.)

That guy is an unknown who beat a well known AE player at tourney (forget which one but I def watched it.)  He got hype and jumped up and down on the stage, which has the stream cam, which shook a lot when he jumped.  Then someone put in the earthquake stuff.

Super Castlevania is quite a bit easier than others in the series up until that point, but most of the IGAvanias with their leveling and loots are far easier.

SOTN has literally one difficult part -- Galamoth.

And the witches that put up shields are annoying, but you only deal with them once, on the way to galamoth, who you kill, then get the fart cloud that owns everything in the game. but it's still one of those games you have to play all the way through when you pick it up!

oh, but I guess Richter mode is like playing SOTN as a regular castlevania.  Pretty tough stuff.

Richter mode is kinda old school CV!

i base that on playing for 5 minutes and dying before the first save room because I was just letting myself get hit without realizing he dies quickly.

http://www.trueachievements.com/Karaoke/achievements.htm

There's a new Karaoke app on Xbox, interacts with their SmartGlass app on tablet devices.

It's not available in Japan.

It's developed by iNIS, makers of LIPS.

I don't know whether or not to be baffled by MS using a Japanese developer to make a Karaoke game which isn't available in Japan, or to be relieved that I won't have to deal with iNIS' utter incompetence in development. LIPS had grindy Achievements galore, and a save-data flow which consistently corrupted the save-data files. Sour grapes, but maybe I'm better off leaving this alone.

CVIV is still a fantastic game. I could beat Drac back in the day since I had a pssword directly to him in some SNES guide that came with a NP subscription. Was able to get to the boss gauntlet right before him but never beat all three of those guys doing proper runs of the game. :lol

Is this the one that charges you by the hour?

Yes, there are apparently 1- to 24-hour passes.

Honestly, I'd like to rent it for at least an hour and see if it's similar to LIPS, and whether or not they've fired their UI and Save/Load engineers. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything which uses Avatars, 'cos I like Avatars.

I don't really understand why people are mad at Valve about this. The video game world is inandated with bullshit claims/advertising and it's your job as a consumer to figure out what is good and what is bad.

Most of the titles at the top of the iOS 'highest grossing' list are scammy and shitty, but you don't see people banging on Apple's doors to shut them down. I guess Valve gets held to some weird higher standard because all the neckbeards love them.

I think if Steam is skimming 30% off of this scam they should definitely have responsibility to make sure the devs aren't straight up lying about their product. It's kind of ridiculous to blame a consumer because they assumed the official product description wasn't loaded with false advertising.

Because Valve is everyone's best friend.  They don't care about the money, they only care about the games.  Every minute they keep WarZ on steam is another knife in the back.  Valve is supposed to be a company of integrity and honor.  They treat their customers with respect and dignity.  Valve, remove WarZ from Steam immediately or you can kiss my friendship good-bye.

EVERY retailer makes money off of products that aren't quite what they promised. Hell, GNC has built an entire industry on the idea.

Not to mention the PC world where games are more often than not, less than what was promised. I've lost count on the games I have bought/played that had game breaking bugs or poor unplayable/netcode or fibbed about the minumum specs required. I didn't run back to Best Buy and demand they clear the shelves. It's such a problem that I haven't bought a new PC game (within it's first year of release) since BF2.

I guess this is another quirk in the rise of digital distribution. They have the unique ability to control how developers can present the products they allow on their service. It's just interesting to see where we decide the responsibility ends. I don't think they should pull the game, but I do think that customers should be allowed refunds if they were lied to.

Some of that stuff wasn't just misleading, though, it was an outright LIE about features that did not exist in any form.

People that want refunds should get refunds. The game doesn't need to be pulled from Steam, but its Steam page does need to be heavily altered to reflect the ACTUAL content of the game.

I'm sure Valve will make it right eventually...the stink is very loud and smelly around this particular game.  They should pull the game altogether if all the weird moderation and banning rumors are true, but I guess that's harder to objectively measure.  and really, any EULA would allow for that.

Yea, seems they rushed this out to cash in on the holidays and beat the other game to market. Although, in one of the previews I read,  they did call this a 'foundation release'. Which is a shitty marketing-speak for a release that will have much more content coming down the road.

It's one of those tricky grey areas where you don't know if a company should be allowed to release deets on where they want their game to end up (as advertisement) or if it is actual deceitful behavior in an attempt to cash-in as fast as possible. Given the past of the developer, it would seem you could make a good assumption.

If I am reading this correctly, you can buy the game for 13 bucks? That seems to be in-line with most games that are not quite ready for primetime. In that weird nebulous beta>>alpha phase. I know I have shelled out 10-15 dollars quite a few times to be a glorified tester for a game ( King Arthurs Gold being the last one).

but investment firm ClearLake are apparently gonna aquire all the assets.

So (apparently) either they will now run as is or Clearlake breaks them up and sells off the assets to get maximum money

The thing I love about this is that there's this fucker exec over at EA, let's call him Tucker, Tucker the fucker.

Tucker the fucker is an industry old timer. He'll be showing off his Porche 911 at his 40 year high-school reunion next year and he won't know why that's douchy or what douchy means. Tucker don't code and Tucker don't game. Tucker the fucker certainly hasn't heard of Reddit.

Tucker the fucker likes work a lot, at least he spends a lot of time there avoiding his bitch second wife and taking out his frustration with his ungrateful brat -- now thankfully gone on to college -- kids on his employees. Despite being generally disliked and ridiculed by those below him he has a good track record of bending over when the big boss unzips, and that's how he's shmoozed his way into the office of Chief Security Officer at EA.

Since Tucker is a fucker he likes to yell and only listens to the shyest and most spineless of his underlings who parrot his misinformed dumbassery back at him. Sure a few well-meaning engineers have tried to engage him a conversation about DRM. "Less is more. Look what's worked for the music industry. The best you can do is slow the pirates down by a day and even if you could stop them they wouldn't buy your game anyway because they live in the third world where $60 will buy you a month's rent on the favella with enough left over for a barrel of cachasa" is what they would have said if Tucker hadn't interrupted with a story about how went disco dancing with the mafioso who financed Ms Pacman.

Tucker the fucker has a spreadsheet he likes to put up on the screen at meetings. The numbers where shat out of his intern's ass, but he calls it, "the data". "The data" demonstrates that a $1 million investment in shit DRM will earn the company $200 million over five years. The truth is that it will never break even and his $650k in salary and stock is a deadweight loss to the company and people want to tell him that but people don't want to get yelled at or subjected to stories about disco.

Oh, right, I was going to say the thing I love about this. The thing I love about this is that by this time Monday Tucker the fucker will have heard of Reddit.

ahahaha holy shit

I've tried to slow down my buying habits as I just don't have time for most games nowadays.

No point in wasting money on something that is just going to sit on my shelve doing nothing. I counted just my 360 retail games last week I have 130 plus the two I got for Christmas. I Dare not even count my PC games. My PS3 games are the most manageable as I only buy exclusives on that.
