Tales of Vesperia is only $4 with Gold this week.

Eternal Sonata is only a fiver.

Dark Souls 1 is also a fiver.

Bully is only $4.

Namco milking Idolmasters for all it's got  :kobeyuck

Well, it's almost all its got. Namco, if they had a single pair of firing synapses, would have been able to bring Idolmaster to mobile without outsourcing it entirely. Fumbling dimwits.

Is Idolmaster even popular anymore?  I thought there was some new exactly-the-same-shit-with-a-different-name game/anime/whatever that replaced it from another company.  Love Live School Idol Project I think?

Idolmaster is still plenty popular, in no short part due to the success of its spinoff, Cinderella Girls. Love Live is a competitor is a market with an ass load of people willing to spend way too much money.

I still wouldnt bet on a PS4 game localization, cause Namco are way too conservative with making money to take the chance. Even though given how the market is like now (we're getting localized Project Diva games, Otome VNs, and even that idol Neptunia game got localized), I think an Im@s localization could do well. The english version of the Love Live mobile game's been a huge hit overseas after all.

I saw virtually nothing Idolmaster-related in Japan a few weeks ago, but that Love Live shit was all over the place.

I need to catch up on open world games. I've played all the console GTAs since 3, but I never actually tried to complete the campaign in any of them. I'd just do a couple missions then fuck around in the city. Saints Row 3 and Sleeping Dogs are the only ones that I actually played to completion.

RDR is pretty great. I think it does a lot better than GTAV in some areas. Mainly in the random element and the quest writing, which were all pretty boring to bad in GTAV and had none of the distinct quality of RDR's.

Bully is a pretty solid game. It's heavily inspired by Shenmue, but with a less focused narrative. I didn't care for it much when it came out, because I had played Shenmue 1 and 2 earlier that year for the first time and I didn't think it stacked up. I'm really interested in giving it another shot, because in hindsight, and in terms of general concept, it appeals to me. Maybe this time it won't be colored by my experience of playing Shenmue 1, but that game in general ruins a lot of open world games for me.

Apparently Bully on Steam has a very positive grade, so I'll check it out soon.

Ya know, when a friend was telling me about Bully they said on boot up they started messing around and like found a soda machine or whatever and went 'Yes, it's Shenmue again!', so Himu-chan isn't making an entirely unprecedented comparison here. Also I fucking love Bully and am probably almost as thirsty for it's II as Himu is for Shen III. :uguu

I could make a long post comparing Shenmue 1 and Bully and their intricacies. It's be pretty interesting on how the two compliment each other.

Bully on PC is locked at 30 FPS, but there's a fix for it:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=121093956

I guess it glitches some missions though, so maybe you're better off leaving it be (although you can revert back for those missions).

That's weird. This link, right?

I uploaded the file to mediafire (it came with two versions but you just need ver. 1.200):

Yeah, I can see the argument easily, it might actually be a better one than the GTA comparison normally used if you can only pick one game to compare it to. I thought it was just a little funny how she wrote a whole paragraph seemingly about Bully mentioning her gaming love three times. :lol

They actually added a new difficulty level to the new Grandia II port  :o

I filled out a survey for the game and that was the only thing I asked for. A harder difficulty level. Fucking awesome. Can't wait to replay that game. It was one of the very first I bought for my PS2.

It's very early 2000's edgy emo lead character "church is bad" RPG plot, super linear too but damn the battle system is awesome.

Quote
-Setting is Tokyo and planet called Plotraksa(?)
-12 young protagonists gets Shinigami (Evil God)'s soul in them so they become immortal, and they end up getting involved with battle of Gods
-Dungeon traveling is 3D Sideview with SD characters
-you can perform actions like jump and dash to progress dungeons
-enemies are symbol encounter so you can attack them first
-battle involves 4 characters in system called active chain battle
-Each members are bound to the 4 face buttons (○/×/□/△) and when you press each button corresponding characters attack
-you have to think of the order of the attack to keep the combo going, and higher combos will result battle chance of rare items
-In the battle there is 'front row' and 'back row' and you can switch them during battle. Front row has higher damage output but is easier for enemies to attack. Back row has lower damage but it's harder for enemies to attack you.
-main characters have power of shinigami, so you can unlock those powers to do special attacks

-story is not your typical "good guys beat evil guys"
-you have important choices to choose which member you send back to Earth. The order in which you send characters back to Earth will have influence on the road to the ending.
-time it takes to beat the game is around 40~50 hours
-There is extra dungeon after you beat the game
-there are lots of post-game contents
-online elements include time attack on boss battles

Wait a second... some of this stuff sounds REALLY familiar.  :hyper :hyper :hyper

Plus its directed by MASAKING!!! :hyper :hyper :hyper

Last time I checked VC3 wasn't available in English. I can't read Japanese so I never played it myself.

Why not move on to a different series? I'm currently playing Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch - Tyranid Invasion and that's a great game if you're into turn-based strategy.

Three has a fan patch. It's pretty solid from what I played. Same good VC gameplay, but the story moves back to something like the first one.
