Campaign was okay, but it's not going to influence my decision.

just burn them to disc, they'll be fine, there's no drm or online authentication

Maybe some different incarnation of the service that is pretty different than the current version. But who knows.

If they do relaunch, I hope they keep their 'old games' niche and don't try to go after Steam. Being in direct competition with Steam would probably ensure they close for real.

I'm pretty ignorant to how digital distribution costs work. Like I understand regular brick and mortal. Store or company orders X amount of software. Pays for it. Then sells software at a higher price and that is where the profit comes in.

But how does that work with digital distribution. Are they also buying an allotment of software just in virtual form?

Either a cut of the sales goes to distributor or they license the game for a set cost and keep all the sales.

In GOG's case, it's probably the later.

I played a Move demo today at Best Buy. It was pretty obvious the fat guy trying to extoll its virtues to me was some kind of ...whats the derogatory term for playstation fanboy again? In case you were wondering, he did work there.

Anyway, the only game I played was the sports champion ping pong. Game is fucking hard. It is accurate though. I guess I'm too used to WSR ping pong to give it a fair assessment, but I couldn't figure out how to place my shots well. *shrug*
I also tried a gran turismo demo and was surprised you still had to brake and accerlerate with the face buttons. Maybe there was an option I missed.

Rumor is that Valve is buying GOG. I like Steam, but GOG's storefront and DRM free games were so nice. $:-\$

If I can add my GOG games to Steam that will be a nice consolation, though.
