As someone who had never played an MMO at that time ( to be fair WoW was the only really cool or good one ), at that time it was an amazing experience.

Now? I doubt if I'll go back to it I'll enjoy it the same way.

Running around those elven forests (cant remember the zone name) and doing quests, talking to people grouping up to fight boses etc was awesome.

Tedious in a lot of aspects, but it was like I was playing Phantasy Star Online x 10000

I played WoW from launch up until Lich King. You’re week of wow is pointless and irrelevant to me.

It was never a bad game. Any QoL feature that any modern mmo or even online co-op game has probably owes its life to that game.

Few mmos then or now ever matched the scale or expanse of that game. FFXIV’s world can’t even breathe without having to be chopped into loading screens. Wow’s world feels absolutely seemless.

You can complain about quest design, but that’s any MMO and really ignores that end of zone quests, dungeons, or quests lines like Onxiya(whatever that dragon was) felt epic and more rewarding then most single player games. And more team oriented then most online games

Classes felt unique with talent tress offering some actual personality. Shadow Priests was a terror in PVP.

The world events and constants add ons that game has drawf any gass today. Adding battlegrounds I remember was an actual huge deal. I logged in and it felt like the entire world population was there to join up.

Yeah, WoW was in no way a bad game. You want a bad mmo. Play Guild Wars 2.

Exactly, and to me that was the best part of old WoW. Running around just asking folks if they wanted to group up to get some quests done.

Now everyone is autistic and doesn't want to communicate, instead just run dungeons with rando's and burn through them as quick as possible.

Old WoW also had an huge amount of atmosphere. If you were using dial up to connect yourself to an entire different world, that shit blew my mind really.

So? WoW has taken from other MMOs & games that were worse than it, doesn't make those into gems.

The game was poorly balanced in PVP and PVE, most specs were useless endgame, raid design was shit, traveling was a nightmare, the UI sucked, quest design was garbo, etc etc.

TBC and LK made that game a million times better and into something worthwhile. Vanilla was shit but it was the best shit available at the time so everyone (including me) sucked it down. Doesn't make it retroactively good. When TBC Classic launches then there will be a reason to jump on the train.

How did the UI suck compared to any MMO of the time? I can't even figure out what was happening in FFXI and it was a slog to do simple things. The UI was fine and was constantly changing in vanilia. Adding things that mods brought. If anything it got bloated, but it never got in the way of playing the game. The UI of the game was probably the best part, made WoW actually engaging and not overwhelming compared to other MMOS. Quest design sucked? Compared to what? The quests were fine. The biggest complaint you can say is that they were grindy and samey. But hell of a lot better then what any other game was doing and plenty of the more important ones were actually fun. And as the game got into the BC era, the quests were far more inventive. Some specs were not valid, but it's a fucking mmo. Some specs work for somethings and dont for others. There's always going to be a meta. Even in the super controlled FFXIV, some Jobs are better suited for raiding and parties will lock certain jobs out. And thats a game where there is'nt really any type of choice when it comes to personalizing your job. Traveling a nightmare? How? You walk, use your mount, or use many of the quick travel features. I'm sorry WoW was actually an open world that required you to actually travel. It wasn't press a button and quick travel to the point that made you question if you're even playing a MMO like say FFXIV. The travel was never an obstacle in that game. If anything, one of the highlights.

The game was never bad and really to argue otherwise is pretty dumb. How could such a bad game become pretty much one of of the most important games ever made. It couldn't.

Lion King is ok, but the monkey/giraffe level is ass and the stampede level is buns too. Aladdin is the real winner. The SNES version I mean. The one not included in this bundle.

PS3 emulator RPCS3 is making great strides. They can now boot MGS4, but there are still plenty of glitches. You can use it to externalize your MGS thirst and let it wither, or be surprised a year or so from now and play a better version (upscaled and with FPS limits raised).

Ebay Kleinanzeigen is wild, some are listing them for astronomical prices, but  some are just trying to get rid of their stuff for basically anything.
Same with the SNES classic I just bought. Multiple listings for 150€, but that dude sold me his that was practically new for 45.

This video ends about 40 seconds before the game crashed due to currently unsolvable RSX issues(Where the game locks to 24 FPS and becomes un responsive), regardless its almost a miracle that I got to play it for so long for this video, without it crashing.
