Not that there's a thread yet for most disappointing game/game purchase that I know of (of 2019), wanted to put out there that Black Desert (PS4) has been the biggest disappointment this year for me. I'm solely to blame of course, as you can only read so many folks' opinions about such games. I got suckered in into the great, but clunky character creator, and the fast paced fighting. But looks can only get you so far. (I've certainly had more fun with Warframe) I expected to jump into zones/dungeons with groups and whatnot right off the bat, but started to learn that this isn't that type of game. Overall, I really don't see myself going back to it... So many other good games are needing to be played. oh well.

yep, i had the same experience years ago on the pc version. it's all potential for cool shit and none of it is actually in the game but the pc had the added "benefit" of requiring cash shop purchases to be even baseline with everyone else.

The Outer Worlds is the Emperor's New Clothes of Video Games circa 2019. I'm not convinced that any review / games journo played past Edgewater. There's absolutely nothing there. It makes Skyrim look like Daggerfall.

I mean I think it's bland as hell and agree with you, but I'd still rate it over most Bethesda games and feel the metacritic in the 80 range is fair.

I'd give it an 8/10. It's good, but bland and too easy/simple.

I really don’t think it’s better than Fallout 3 or 4 or any Elder Scrolls. It could be, the bones are there, they just do nothing with them.

A 6/10 for creating a decent base to build on and that’s being very generous. For all the complaints about Skyrim and Fallout 4 being very loose interpretations of the word “RPG” The Outer Worlds deserves just as much heat if not more.

I think the back half is better. The game still has lots of branching ways to finish some quests which is great and something Obsidian’s strong at.

Yeah, just wrote up my final thoughts in the main thread, but I stick by an 8/10 good game. The only Bethesda game I managed to finish was Fallout 3 and it took dozens of mods to make it bearable and I still never really liked it much in the end. Haven't played 4 but couldn't keep any interest in Oblivion or Skyrim. So I still personally enjoy this better.

Outer Worlds is essentially Mass Effect 1 (short 20 hour game hopping planets with a team) except less exciting and good haha. I loved Mass Effect 1 though.

I'd probably cry too if I had the weight of knowing I had to get a real job versus playing games for money. But if he got as good as he did with trainers, then he would have been kicked off sooner or later anyway, so he's a dumbass for not realizing that.

From what I read he only cheated for one video. He took enough precaution to create a separate account, but not enough to read the fine print, I guess. Still a stupid gamble, but these are not the usual crocodile tears from a habitual cheater.

supposedly he never used it in a match, which i can believe cause a lot of the pro events use computers provided by the event. it's possible to use cheats for online events but iirc there was someone who tried early on in fortnite's life (or maybe this was pubg?) that got banned mid tournament match for using it.

Personally i just realized that with a 1060 i wouldn't get much better performance than a PS4pro in the first place.
Certainly no worth the full price double dip and the 150GB of space needed.

Besides, i still have to understand whether the performance are decent or not, it seems to have had a bit of a rocky launch, with crashes and freezes.

I've been playing Tropical Freeze on Switch. Holy heck this game is hard as balls. I thought this game was for kids lol? Should've played Funky Mode instead. Can't change modes--dumb design decision btw.

It's really fun though. One of the better 2D platformers I've played in a bit.

This game also puts HDTVs input lag to the test like no other. If your TV is OK at best, it's gonna be an awful experience. Game mode better be up to snuff for this one.
