Shopped around for a PC upgrade today after seeing that Cyberpunk footage.
I think this will be the setup and I will return to the $2000 Crysis PC lol:
- Asus Rog Strix X570-F Gaming
- Ryzen 7 3700X (might be an XT depending on pricing)
- Fractal Design Celsius Water Cooling
- 32GB RAM DDR4 3200
- Samsung EVO 970 Pro 1TB NVME SSD (may go with a cheaper SSD and 64GB of RAM instead  :thinking )

cost: ~800 - 1000 Euro

Mixed in with the parts I have now, my rig will look like this:
- Asus Rog Strix X570-F Gaming
- Ryzen 7 3700X
- Fractal Design Celsius Water Cooling
- 32GB RAM DDR4 3200
- Samsung EVO 970 Pro m2 NVME SSD
- Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Aorus
- SoundBlaster Z (although I might retire it)

Storage
- Samsung EVO 970 Pro 1TB NVME SSD
- Samsung 840 250GB SSD
- Samsung 850 500GB SSD
- WD 3TB HDD
- WD 3TB HDD
- WD 1TB HDD

Except for the ~3 year GPU upgrade it should last me a good 4 - 7 years I think.
This i7 4790k rig has been going strong for about 6 years.

DLSS 2.0 and DirectX12 Ultimate to the rescue  :rejoice

The game will run on PS4/PS5/Xbone/XboneX/XseriesS/XseriesX so I should be able to hit 60fps @ 1440p if I turn off some Ray Tracing effects  :tocry

also someone will attempt to port it to Switch  :lol

I bought the 2070 Super last summer.

It's my 4790k and even more so my motherboard that requires an upgrade.
Also I'm running out of storage.

Cindi - Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga, Rez HD (superseded by Rez Infinite on PS4 nowadays), Strania, Guwange, and I remember a lot of praise for The Maw for some reason. XBLIG has some cool things too including the original versions of Breath of Death VII and Cthulu Saves The World (Zeboyd games indie rpgs)

Ok. What else for good arcade shit? A lot of the shooters that interest me like deathsmiles and espgaluda are way expensive.

Those are all XBL so they're not overinflated in the aftermarket. But for physical shmup releases, domestically there's Akai Katana, Deathsmiles, and Wartech: Senko no Ronde. For imports, region free, there's Mushihime sama, Mushihime sama Futari, ESPGaluda 2, and the Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets double pack... those are pretty pricey, especially Muchi...

lmao pc gaming

More like lmao Swery's shit coding.

Absolutely no issues with most other notorious shitty ports (Infamous a notable example) that can crash to desktop randomly, but doesn't stop you from actually PLAYING a game start-to-finish.

Deadly Premonition (and his other ones, I guess, wouldn't know can't care to find out) is the only ones that actually ACTIVELY stop you from playing them.

Wow, this was an amazing insight into the development of Alan Wake.

It still looks so good that it makes me want to play it again.
Back when I played it on Xbox 360 I already thought it was groundbreaking, even though at the time a lot of people were disappointed it wasn't open world (as that was gaining more and more traction at the time) and 'downgraded'.
Turns out it wasn't downgraded at all and you actually play in carved out pieces of that open world.

It's weird with Remedy games though. They usually get praised after release. When Control launched it didn't make a blip on the radar and people started speculating about the end of Remedy.
When I played it again I realized how special it was and I just told everyone to play it (as did most other early adapters). By the end of the year it was scooping up GOTY awards left and right and the Ray Tracing implementation is still unmatched.

Only with Quantum Break it was the opposite. It launched with a lot of fanfare on Xbox One. I loved it too. But it completely disappeared shortly after launch and the PC port wasn't handled well because of Microsoft bullshit.

I can't wait for AWE and their next gen game  :rejoice

I thought Alan Wake was ultimately incredibly mediocre.
Everything about the gameplay and enemy design was super bland, and everything interesting was basically ripped off Twin Peaks.

I think Control it their first great game since Max Payne 2.

Nintendo is dropping something this week but it literally could be anything.
A game, a release date for an announced game, a Mario Presentation, a Nintendo Direct or another set of LEGO

Xbox's big MIC DROP moment this month was not having a MIC DROP moment.

He's been the editor-in-chief for nearly three decades at a magazine that managed to obtain the highest subscription base in America. Of all magazines, not just gaming magazines.

The day-to-day head of a major industry institution changing like this is pretty big news within that industry, especially when its parent company is imploding and it was a last bastion of print.

That article is about Apple canceling contracts with some developers because their games aren't played enough.. to focus on games that are.

This article mostly just reads like games that weren't coming along in development or just didn't project well, not the service itself. Every publisher does this, so this isn't really earth shattering. It sounds like they probably went after stuff that people could do a trial sub for, finish, and have no desire to play again. They're gonna target the same kind of stuff that console publishers love, anything that remotely resembles a GaaS.
