Watch SE edge the fuck out of the Remaster console releases.  They’ll pack them into multiple separate physical bundles and charge $50-60 a piece, no digital release whatsoever.  And then only after “enough” time has passed from those, they’ll release them only in one big bundle on console digital at $99 (because of inflation from the time since it was first posted on Steam, ya know?).

Which seemed chill at first, but then kind of turned into a haven for Trump-people projecting all kinds of agendas on this burnt-out Youtube guy. Many there sincerely painting his wife - who never appeared or said anything anywhere - as a devil's whore who steals his time, claiming Mike Matei's a "national treasure" for saying cunt a lot (but certainly never being a racist with those nicca comic strips of his) and bashing Rolfe for abiding corona policies, etc.

(tbf the channel did become trash, but it's not worth more than a short laugh, particularly at those talentless fatties, before moving on)

Can't finish this video- much like that reddit sub, the guy is acting like he knows all about James' personal life.  "He made these videos before by himself or with Mike- why can't he do it now?  He should just get his old buddies to help him make the videos!  It's bullshit when he says he needs Screenwave to help him!" When he says 'they just don't understand my situation,' it's silly!  Maybe the crew have moved on and don't want to or can't help him with this stuff anymore?  Perhaps this is why he has Screenwave handling stuff now?  Would have been a lot faster to just make a 10 second video that says "AVGN sucks now and Screenwave is shit."

Im not sure would be an action rpg.

They've got Forever Ent making turn based remakes of Front Mission 1 and 2.

2.5D turn based remakes of snes games.

Various remasters of niche games.

And smaller projects that are turn based games.

Something tells me this isn't a VII Remake sized project, but maybe a bit above a mid sized one. But also Japanese side has been pretty ok in respecting their old games. I think this is probably going to be something more akin to what Forever Entertainment does, if not just by them.

Seems like SE keeps galavanting around a Xenogears re-release/remake/remaster/2DHD..whatever...... Does Sony have a lockdown on this or something? Seriously.. next to FFVII remake, it's gotta be the next most demanded SE JRPG that fans want.

Isn't there a whole lot of licensing issues the game is tied up in? Hence why the PSP one dropped the PE name and was just called "The 3rd Birthday".

A hugely underrated game. Namco Hometek, the US branch, didn't like the character design, so they put less effort into marketing it. In Japan, it had a sequel on the WonderSwan in addition to its PS1, PS2, and GBA entries -- all solid.

Source: I was working at Namco Hometek at the time, and even played pre-release versions of Klonoa while we stumbled toward making Pac-Man World 3D.

They probably want to do a remaster at some point but right now Monolith is simply too busy with BOTW2 and Xenoblade 3.

After XB3 releases they've wrapped up a run of XB2, XB2:TGC, XB:DE and XB3 in succession.
If they will ever revisit it, that's probably the only time it could happen. Square Enix and Nintendo are both interested for sure.

Like AAA studios do it because the final product isn't ready to show and so they show CG trailers, but like you go on a storefront page for an indie game and flick through the trailer and you still have no idea what the game is and it's just kind of annoying.

This post comes from the free game today on EGS and watching the movie clip and having no idea what the game is until watching the 2nd or 3rd clip that actually shows a game.

I know game marketing teams are much maligned, but watching indie game developers attempt to do their own marketing is always hilarious.

This isn't video game related, but continuing on with some recent AVGN discussion here-

Cinemassacre, this channel, is ultimately about nostalgia. Movies, games, retro topics, sometimes music. Everything I've loved in my early years, to the point of building little museums of nostalgia such as the Nerd room and the fake VHS "rental store". But today I wanted to dive into different memories. VHS ones. Filming things off TV, my favorite VHS tapes, all that sort of stuff. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while now.

This year, I’ll be making more videos like this, including movie reviews, gaming, various topics. For most of these, I will be going back to my traditional scripted format, where I write/organize what I’ll say, rather than doing it off-the-cuff like the podcast format. I feel I’m at my best this way. Unfortunately that means the podcast will not be continued. But Justin and Kieran will continue producing and editing. Justin will mostly be focused on Screenwave projects and Kieran is focused on his streaming channel.

This video is more "James" and it looks like he's going to go back to having more involvement with these videos going forward.  Bye, shitty podcast.
