EA Play on Steam is a great deal. All games over 6 months old are free to play, and new games you get 10 hours to test it out.

I only pay $30 canadian a year. I hate EA, but man is it a smoking deal.

I did not feel safe in this gamergate environment, being pressured to work on murder simulators. However I felt a glimmer of hope when I was moved to the game design team. I isolated myself from the others and spend my days prototyping a pacifist mode for HALO which would broaden the audience. In my prototype players would talk and argue with the covenant to share their perspectives on important issues like equality, diversity and gender roles. Then management scrapped all my work saying that it would be too expensive to retool the entire game. I knew it was the QA testers that were responsible, I remember seeing them smirk at me as they entered the elevators.

To make matters worse after a performance review management moved me over to manage the team in charge of the ice biome and I hate winters as well as talking to people So I panicked. The team would refer to me as their 'Ice Queen' as I slaved away making this dumb game until I couldn't take it anymore. Of course it might be a bit much to compare myself to the French resistance during WW2 but following those gendered insults I did enough to delay work on the ice level so it would get scrapped for the release prior to my departure. When the level designers found out they refused to talk to me afterwards. They were soooo toxic, constantly nagging about a 5 year gap on their resume that would be hard to explain so I had to set all my social media profiles to private.

I would doubt it because the tweet very strongly suggests this is something the game went out of its way to highlight and that's how it drew his attention even though Holland is well, you know, another actual place. I would go further and ask how he proposes to name an abandoned child in a superior way.

Watched Max play through a level of Hi-Fi Rush. Actually seems like a lot of fun despite the obviously low budget. Even the humor hits better than it did in the presentation. Don’t have an Xbox or a PC that can play anything released within the last decade though, so I can’t play it myself unfortunately.

People with taste get it and enjoy the great gameplay and absurd ridiculousness of the story. But for 99% of the gaming population they just see it as a bad meme game.

Now that all the DLC is out I’ll buy the deluxe edition once it’s 40-50% off. I don’t really have it in me to go back to games months later just to play some asset flip DLC these days. Spent far too much money on shit I never ended up touching.

Plus Team Ninja showed with Nioh that they do some major QoL and balance changes as each DLC drops, so I’d rather play the most polished experience.

Main game was 100% satisfying on its own though, so I'm fine with that.

There is no way I can retrain my brain to work a FPS with single stick controls.

There really isn't a viable option in the control options either.

Although apparently you can set up a different Switch controller profile which allows you to remap everything to get almost modern controls. Who could be bothered with that though...
