I was looking for videos of Gunners Heart on youtube and it led me to this.

It's called NicoNico Fighters. Must have something to do with the internet video site NicoNico Douga.

With that said, that is brilliant.

yeah all the character seems to be based on japanese meme's

they should do an american version with long cat,the memefaces and rick astley

outside of the ghastly art design and general roughness of it, it doesn't look that bad.  I mean it looks bad, really bad, like worse than DC Universe Online.  But it seems like it could be ok to play.

has anyone played Ultimate Alliance 2? I played UA 1 a bit, and Xmen Legends 1 and 2 a lot.  Is UA2 more of the same (in a good way)?

lol, MS has a thing where you buy -anything- on GFW marketplace and you get $5 back. So I bought a 80 point DiRT 3 DLC for PC. I know there's gonna be some rule that prevents this, but fuck it. The fine print says "any Games for Windows purchase online"

Nice deal. I bought Section 8 Prejudice since it's the GFWL DotW for $7.50, so if I get the $5 back the game will cost practically nothing. lol

tl;dr = Singleplayer-only games are too expensive.

But I'm far more willing to pay $60 for a great single player experience with a tacked on multiplayer than I am a multiplayer-focused game with tacked on singleplayer mode.

why don't you just make a single player game with enough content to last me multiple playthroughs instead of a 8 hour game? Don't blame single player games for your failures.

The problem is not every single player game lends itself to this. I think his point is ultimately correct. Not every game needs to be $60. Only the top tier games can support that price.

for what Origin is, it's a pretty damn good service.  at least so far it has had decent deals for recent-ish games (in the past month, DS2/Bullestorm for 13, Crysis 2 for 22).  you can register retail purchased games and get a digital copy.  united friends list between games, with deeper integration.  great customer support.

problem is that it is an EA-exclusive service.  I don't know if they want it to grow and include other publishers, but that's the draw of steam.  It's one program/platform for PC gaming.  and the mix-up between Steam and Origin isn't all on EA. iirc, Steam's policies clash with EA's regarding DLC.  It mostly sets a worrying precedent for the future of this junk.  Multiple accounts for multiple publishers, etc.  Ubisoft already has their Uplay thing and sells games, as did EA before they evolved it into Origin.

that said, I'm buying retail copies of Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3.

BTW, what's Best Buy's policy on returning this stuff?  I just bought it on Saturday.  Do they give me a full refund or is it store credit?  Anyone know?

Red Faction: Armageddon has signaled the end of not just a planet, but an entire, transmedia universe. Speaking during an investor call this evening, THQ CEO Brian Farrell described the franchise's reach as "niche," and consequently no longer worth pursuing.

"Given that that title, now in two successive versions, has just found a niche, we do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way," Farrell said. He described the development team at Volition as "talented," and noted that they would be moving on to the company's Guillermo del Toro project, Insane.

Shame, but it's not like RF was a good franchise outside of the destruction tech which can be used elsewhere if they're smart.

Yeah, the main draw of the two most recent Red Faction games were the scifi setting and the destruction.

Saints Row 4 with that level of destruction would be amazing.

The lore of Red Faction and the setting were meaningless. It wasn't interesting and nobody cared about it. But Guerilla was one of the few "pure" open world games I liked. Armageddon was pointless because it got rid of the interesting part of the franchise to try to be a subpar Dead Space.

I'm not defending Capcom, but $20 for an 'HD' version is standard.  God of War Collection (GoW1 + GoW2) = $40, God of War Origins Collection (CoO + GoS) = $40, Team Ico collection (Ico + SotC) = $40.  Sole exception seems to be the Sly Collection (all three Sly games).   Metal Gear collection and ZoE Collection prices haven't been announced.

Main difference is retail versus digital release

oh, and oddly, the Silent Hill collection is only Silent Hill 2 and 3, and PS3 exclusive (MGS and ZoE are coming to 360)

oddly? up rez'd PS1 assets don't really work all that well in a HD collection, same with the MGS collection though on PS3 they're just throwin in a dlc code for MGS on PSN

Well, RF:G didn't sell to expectations. They kept the brand but changed the genre, and that didn't work. I just don't see how long they can be expected to pursue that property. If that team gets put on a new original IP, cool. If they get stuck working on some WWE-based third-person cover shooter... well, I wouldn't want to see that.

I think it has more to do with the 50,000 minimum print run MS requires for NA. It's also why Arcana Heart 3 didn't get released on the 360 in NA.

Some of Microsoft's policies are Sony-stupid.
