I can't remember a time when the Japanese retailers /were/ supporting the 360. Nor can I remember when they were selling. Oh, wait, that's right: they never have.

x360 have been generally the shame aisle in any Japanese game retailer for some time. Actually, occasionally the shame shelf, not even a full stand.

Unless you're in a geek-central area, like Akiba or Nipponbashi, the x360 support has been gone since a year after launch.

Gives me plenty of time to procrastinate on getting a bigger HDD for my Xbox fattie, at least.

I totally neglected VF5, sad to say.  Hopefully now that the fighting game scene has been revitalized, VF5 can find the audience it deserves and I can find some people to play online without waiting for twenty minutes.

Theme Park has been revealed for iPhone and iPad at gamescom 2011.

Inspired by the 1994 Bullfrog title of the same name, Theme Park is an entirely new title using a 3D engine and free-to-play elements.

Players will upgrade their park's rides and staff using in-game currency, with aspects such as ride construction and park income taking place in real time.

Additional in-game currency can also be purchased with real money to access new attractions faster.

Parks will expand by buying new plots of land, which can be styled in a variety of ways including pirate, organic and futuristic themes, each offering their own for specific looks and ride-types.

As well as fine-tuning the specifics of each ride, they can be interacted with using touch controls, such as swinging pirate ships with swipes or prodding bouncy castles.

Elsewhere, there will be attractions based on other Electronic Arts titles, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Dead Space.

Theme Park will be available as a free universal application for iPhone and iPad by the end of the year, and will come with cloud storage for game progress using EA's social network Origin

oh god they are turning theme park into a freemium cellphone game :fbm
it's like they actively seek out stuff to do to make me sad on purpouse :fbm

apparently there were some rumors and one of those was that sega game... the rest of the rumor is the following

[ ] 4 Warriors of Light 2, 3DS
[ ] Monster Hunter Tri G, 3DS
[ ] Miku Hatsune (SD style), 3DS
[ ] New Shining game using Valkyria systems and characters from Shining Hearts, PSP
  • Sega has a Layton-like game but with rhythm action instead of puzzles, to be announced at TGS.

[ ] Bayonetta 2 is in development and is planned for release at the same time as a theatrical Bayonetta CG movie.
[ ] Vita launch later this year, Monster Hunter 3rd HD will be announced at TGS to be a launch title.
[ ] DQ10 is being designed as an MMO-like game.

oh god i can't wait to hear about DQ10 modern design ::)

Yeah, people are confusing the DQX rumor.  Nintendo fans think it means ZOMG XENOBLADE STYLE DQ, loooooooooooool.

Guess what, DQIX was MMO STYLE DQ.  The rumor just means they'll go even further in DQIX's direction...which sucks, because DQIX was lame compared to classic DQ.

there is nothing wrong with DQ9 job system,it's nice that you can put some skill point in paladin and you guys suddenly have some HP to spare

the problem with DQ9 is that there is so much time wasting fluff, the worst is probably those random cave which play like the item world from disgaea if the item world from disgaea was made by one guy who doesn't understand what makes it so fun to traverse in the first place

the fact that you can't fight optional boss at their full strenght and have instead to grind for them is also another incredibly stupid idea just to waste even more time

DQ9 was the worst entry in the series since 2... had too much superfluous crap in it like those awful luck-based quests and the boring postgame stuff. Plus the music was crappy compared to the rest of the series.

Don't really care about P4P.  These games are long as fuck!  I'd rather play one of the many R&D1 megaten games I haven't played yet than spend 50+ hours replaying P3/P4 on the go.

Cool for those who haven't played them though, like how Groo was able to get into P3 through P3P.

I liked DQ9 better than 8, 6, 2, and 1.  It wasn't the greatest, but it was a good rebound from DQ8.

Honestly, I'd rather have DQX be like DQVIII with faster battles and better battle system.  I loved exploring DQVIII's world.  The story was just ok, but the world was a great adventure like DQVI in 3d.  Did not feel much about exploring DQIX's world.

for me 5>4>6>8>9

If DQX is more like DQIX and by L5 again, it'll probably be somewhere between 8/9 and has no chance at being as good as the 2d SFC trilogy.

Meh. My question is, who's developing all these handheld ports? I hope none of the good teams are wasting their time on this shit.

I'll probably play it again once I get a Vita though. P4 with trophies will be cool.

A few guys from the main Persona team.  They don't use up a ton of resources.

Persona team = after Catherine, started on P5 this year; probably fall 2012 release, early/summer 2012 announcement.
Kaneko team = after Strange Journey, fucked around on other stuff like some staff on Radiata historia, probably making a real SMT for 3DS/Vita at this point.
Growlanswer team = Devil Survivor -> Devil Survivor 2 -> dunno, maybe Devil Survivor 3 in a few years?

Everyone also at internal atlus = ports and other stuff that no one cares about.

I liked DQ9 better than 8, 6, 2, and 1.  It wasn't the greatest, but it was a good rebound from DQ8.

If DQX is more like DQIX and by L5 again, it'll probably be somewhere between 8/9 and has no chance at being as good as the 2d SFC trilogy.

I think DQ8 has the best cast, the funnest world, the best vignettes, the best depth and strategy (psych ups really add a lot of depth). I really enjoy how you customize characters as well, and I like that the whole party is amassed in just a few hours. The only bad thing about 8 is the fact that the dungeons aren't up to par for DQ standards, but compared to other 3d rpgs, they're still very good and also that the battle system is so slow compared to other dq's. inclusion of voice acting went a long way for me too. It's by far and away my favorite DQ despite its flaws.

Other DQ's are great, but DQ8 has the best sense of adventure going for it to me. It remains one of the greatest 3d rpgs I've ever played. I'd really like it if they remake VIII fpr Vita. :drool

The pot felt very L5 even if they weren't the creators of it.  Just an overly complex time waster system to attempt to add more content but it's not fun so nobody uses it unless they have to.
