I played 100 hours of P3, true, but I enjoyed every minute of it and didn't have to go through 30 hours of exposition to unlock all of the game's features

My complaint wasn't about not playing for three months. My complaint is the game is reliant on shards. You can't press forward WITHOUT shards. So if you haven't played in a few months, you end up having to go through every single dungeon, both in the past and the present looking for a single shard. It is tedium incarnate.

I like a lot of the stories in DQ7, especially because a lot of them feel like an extension on what Horii did while working on Chrono Trigger, but jesus fuck, why is it 120 hours?

DQ7 is one of the most bloated, unevenly paced games I've ever played. It makes FF13 look like a mere car accident rather than a train wreck.

I loved DQ7, mostly for the short stories in the game, Horii was at his peak there. One of the few games that I played 100+ hours of and savored every moment.

i got stuck on a boss in DQ7,then a trip to gamefaqs made me discover there is a skill that let you attack snuck 4 attack instead of 1 in a single turn,i grinded quite for a while and then suddenly the game became much much easier

you know i didn't finish the game,i stopped playing after the end of disc 1,i probably wasn't missing much until the end of the game but at the same time i thought i saw all there was to see

If it was a game I liked more, I'd probably rebuy since my j360 is fairly dead. But I'm really tired by DFK by this point between the X360 release, Black Label release, and iphone versions. It's just not that amazing of a cave shmup in the first place.

Now do this for Ketsui and I'm all over the double dip.

Which Cave shmups are still region locked at this point now?

Ketsui, Daioujou Black Label, Akai Katana, and Daifukkatsu Black Label (which comes with the Ketsui arrange mode). Think that's all of them. And Europe still can't play DS2, but everything else is available one way or another.

I've been wanting to give DFK a real shot lately. I don't like the game much either, but I want to learn how to chain a little with Power style before I really decide whether I like it or not.

I don't like the 3D graphics, it just looks cheap. I would've preferred it if they kept it as a visual novel. But anyway, I liked 999, so I'll play it if Aksys or whoever brings it over.

999 story was fine,it just got more "science-fictiony" as it progressed when it started rooted in reality,nothing distinguished mentally-challenged in that,if that character turns out to really be alice i'm curious what they are going to do with it

Magus, I dunno. I sort of liked 999, but I sort of didn't. I only played it a few months ago but I seriously don't remember anything about it. I wanna drive that and if Clarkson doesn't do the overview in game then it's a complete waste of time.

It's also super ugly because it doesn't look like a battle vehicle. It's missing the texture and rugged feel of the warthogs in Halo.

I just wanted to say I really hate the CC pro without creating a thread for it. Maybe if vc games had remappable buttons I could tolerate it, but it really pisses me off how close the analogs are to other buttons and most games don't use the back shoulder buttons for primary purposes. Lousy small handed japanese developers.
