I've really dug myself in a hole at the gamestop near me.  I occasionally preorder a game because the guys are nice there and I know it helps them.  One time, the guy reminded me I had an open preorder for something and I said I didn't want the game, but I'd move it to something else because he was cool and I know they have quotas and stuff.  He was really surprised by this, thankful, and all that.  His co-workers overheard this too, saw them noticing.  I don't really ham it up or get super friendly with anyone who works at the store, despite them clearly recognizing me every time I go in and me knowing them, which I feel is a little weird, but whatever, I just buy games there and know enough to be mindful about the preorder process because I've been shopping at gamestop/funcoland since I can remember.

so I went in yesterday to buy ME2 and a $20 PSN card.  This clerk was one of the ones who overheard me in that previous story.  He told me they might have a code for the game I was gonna get on PSN and I was like "Nah, you definitely don't have codes for the P.O.W:Prisoner of War Mini and besides, it's not out yet."  and he's like "all we have is a listing for the PC version, maybe they did a spiritual sequel or something."  and I was like "that's not it, I don't think SNK even makes PC games...this is an 80s double dragon clone and i'm probably the only person in the world looking forward to it."  I'm just trying to clarify, but it takes a nerd war tone when he apparently didn't appreciate being "shut down" or something and gets grumbly about it.

To pay for part of the transaction, I canceled a preorder for a game and he just went cold for the rest of the transaction, ending with "have fun" in complete dead pan. 

I guess he thought I was doing that on purpose.    moral of the story: don't ever be nice

I'm always nice at stores I'm a regular at and it did nothing but pay off in the long run. You were just in the situation of someone trying to work that niceness into more money for them.

You don't have to worry about being nice, the minute the other person isn't worried about it anymore.

I'm in the process of pre-ordering FF13-2 on Amazon. Any help here? How fast do these guys usually get their games to people who have pre-ordered products? What's the best shipping method? I've purchased stuff from Amazon but I've never pre-ordered anything from them before. Also how early do they bill if you pre-order?

Never played it.  Didn't have a Sega CD and never messed with emulation of it.  Played all the other Sonic games up until SA2.

Will pick this up since it's cheap and I like support GOOD porting of classic games and not shitty backbone.  This will be satisfy my "1 sonic game for every 5-10 years" when I play it next year.

I've never really owned a Razer product before, but heard complaints about how shoddy the build quality of their products are.  After 20+ years of gaming and never once having a controller break down, my Razer Onza randomly decides to give up, not even a year into owning it, without heavy usage.  Both analog sticks jitter like crazy and automatically move in arbitrary directions.  Shame since the analog sticks, rubber feel, and face buttons are great. 

I was looking to see if MS ever made a wired new 360 controller (changed d-pad, better plastic, different analog grips) and it's wireless only.  No clue where I put my PC 360 controller adapter.

I have such a soft spot in my heart for good adventure games.  Just bought another copy of Jane Jenson's Gray Matter a year later as a birthday gift to a friend.  Hope they like it   I wish more people had played the game.  It's really the best point and click adventure game since the 90s ended.

Looks good, but not as good as BBS (both graphically and story-importance) imo.  Looking forward to it, but not super hyped.  Giant color pokemon everywhere is not really my thing and the framerate is struggling in the gameplay bits.

...and it's all just a dream (spin-off).


Still looking forward to it.  <3 KH and fanservice stuff like Axel w/memories & XIII org is awesome.  TWEWY looks like it'll get a major part of the game and I liked TWEWY so that's cool.
