LBP Karting looks surprisingly good. I thought it would just be Modnation Racers with LBP's aesthetic but it has more going on. Battle mode, other perspectives (isometric, top down, side scroller), LBP2 power ups like the grapple and grabbing items.

I've always been incredibly impressed by Square's model department. The Kingdom Heart Disney character models are impeccable and if there's one thing that screamed NEXT-GEN about FFXIII (as the gameplay sure didn't) it was the character models in that game. Even like Dissidia 012 where they took classic 2d art pieces from each FF and made them into costumes was insanely impressive at how close and able they were to bring the 2d art alive to 3d.

It's kind of a shame that their modeling talents are often wasted on some really horrid character and clothing designs. Even most of the monster designs in FFXIII/XIII-2 are boring and suck. These guys and girls are far too talented to be modeling junk. Need more modern enemy designs like Typhoon/Ultros and more character designs like Cecil.

Fish is a graceless cur for being more candid than is appropriate with someone he doesn't know, and more-so for not being respectful of a fellow developer -- who has likely shipped a game, while Fish is still working on his, five years on.

I think "Indie" games should either not be on XBLA, or not have a publisher. With regard to Bastion, I think "Indie" games should not be made with a fleet of outsource vendors.

Nah, I think this should be spread around - this is some nice rep-ruining stuff. Some people who weren't already put off by his other douchery will be now.

In more positive news:

Adventure Time for DS makes me happy, Way Forward at least ensures it will look nice and be at least functional. Hopefully it's more than that. Bit disappointed that it won't be the MonHun-style game Ward was hoping for as a minimum (but happy it won't be a Skyrim-style game he wanted at his most optimistic :3)

i'm not sure if this even count as a news,but apparently this weekend there's going to be some pinball festival in texas and people there will be able to demo the console version of the pinball arcade,all the 4 tables already knew + the 2 that are coming as dlc,they also announced (altough some of these were already announced so i guess reannounced) other tables these include

are you thinking of The Darkness 2? that had a demo and came out.

Prey 2 was shown last E3. It's the alien cyberpunk free roaming bounty hunter game with mirror's edge traversal and open ended missions. Since then it hasn't been heard from.

I had no problem with the game. Hell I almost bought a PS 3 for it until I saw it and thought it was interesting but not exactly what I was craving like I hoped it to be.

The ultimate problem for Zipper is that they simply weren't producing games that the masses wanted to play anymore. Socom in the PS 2 era was kinda a right place, right time, no competition thing. Not a knock at the socom franchise which obviously a lot of people loved from that era. But in the generation of shooters, they simply couldn't make one that a lot of people wanted to play.

UnchainBlades is apparently being released as an eShop game in the US. It's the first "retail" game Nintendo allows to be sold online. Quite interesting, especially for people who live in Europe and have to pray for every single Japanese niche release to find its way over here... If there's no distributing costs involved more publisher might release their games on the old continent too.

That model for an "mmo" is dying faster than RARE after MS bought them for a reason. PSO can make a lot more money off micro transactions if done right.

I'd rather just spend the money to get PSO2 instead of a free games that has ridiculous grinding, is badly balanced, or hides items behind the paywall. It's positive for the game as a whole because F2P means a larger player base and more potential customers. The only ones negatively affected by this news are those who were going to spend $50-60 for it in the first place and will now potentially spend more because of the way cash shops typically operate. (The highest paying customers spend hundreds of dollars to counterbalance the majority who spend nothing). As long as the cash shops sell cosmetics and convenience (see League of Legends, Tribes Ascend and TF2), and stray away from outright selling power (Battlefield Heroes, dozens of Korean MMOs) then it is an overall win.

All of their dlc combined costs $15 which isnt that shitty, but having the true ending be dlc only is certainly a dick move on their end.
