Find me a post where I actually came out and directly advocated Avatar for Best Picture over The Hurt Locker. It doesn't exist. I've always said that it should be one of those two (or three, depending on how I felt about IB at the time).

I just watched D9 today and I thought it was good, but not BEST PICTURE nominee good. The same goes for the likes of Avatar, Up in the Air and even Up.

tbh, I wish Inglorious Basterds won more than best supporting. Hurt Locker was fantastic but Inglorious Basterds? That was my favorite last year.

District 9 was a fun movie.  I was surprised it was nominated but I think in the end it just degenerates into a typical action movie which takes away a little from it.

Inglorious Bastards was good but I think it went on for too long and had a fundamentally flawed narrative (take out the bastards and nothing in the story actually changes).

You ever taken any writing classes, Himu?  There's about an hour of plot that goes absolutely nowhere and is completely unnecessary.  The main character is clearly the Jewish girl, Shoshanna, but intersected with her story are a bunch of pointless, marginally entertaining vignettes starring Brad Pitt and his men.
